We've had a great response for tomorrow's Atlanta Society of Magicians' 100th year celebration. Thanks!

Unfortunately, we need to cut off registration for the banquet at this time as food has been ordered and our seating space is at capacity.

We look forward to seeing everyone who has registered.

P. S. Don't forget - dress code is "Business Casual".

Important update regarding the joint Ring 9 / Assembly 30 Banquet that was scheduled for this Saturday, 1/11/2025

Note that this is NOT the Assembly 30 100th Anniversary Celebration scheduled for 1/18/2025.

Dear IBM Ring 9 and SAM Assembly 30 Members,
We hope this message finds you well.
Due to the anticipated inclement weather on Friday and its potential impact to the Atlanta area this coming weekend, we have made the decision to postpone the Annual Banquet for IBM Ring 9 and SAM Assembly 30 to a later date. While this was not an easy decision, we believe it is the safest and most prudent choice under the circumstances.
We are working to finalize a new date and will share this information with you in the coming days. The rescheduled banquet will likely take place later in January or early February, and we will confirm the details as soon as possible.
We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this change may cause and appreciate your understanding. We hope that everyone who has RSVP’d will still be able to join us on the new date, and we are excited about the possibility of welcoming those who couldn’t attend on January 11th.
Thank you for your continued support of our clubs, and we look forward to celebrating with you at the banquet soon. Keep an eye out for another communication with details on the rescheduled date.
Warm regards,
IBM Ring 9 & SAM Assembly 30 Leadership

As you may have seen via previous Posts there will be, "A Homage to Dan Garrett" Gala Show via Zoom on 30 September at 4PM Eastern (US) - 9PM (UK).
The Zoom only has 100 Places. The Cast, the crew, those making tributes, members of Dan's family & some from his magic club, A.M.I Certified Members, etc., have already been assigned places. It has been indicated that some members of The Magic Circle and The S.A.M (Dan, as many know, was a Past President) are interested in attending. So, I expect the places will be filled - and swiftly.
Ergo, please put your name in a comment if you wish to attend. Or send me your email in a private FB message. Please do so prior to 18 September. In fairness to all, this will be done on a first come, first served basis. Once done, a place will be reserved for you & the Zoom Link will be made available to you. Thank you. If you have already placed your name via a comment elsewhere there is no need to do so again here.
PS: The background music on this Promo clip is being played by Dan Garret. (Respect. RIP) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Agqj1UBCINY
PPS: Not being pedantic but practical; clicking a LIKE is fine but no guarantee of a reserved place. So put your name in a comment so I can add you to the reserved list. Thanks. 🙂

From our good friend Anthony Darkstone.
I am truly saddened. A great shock. A legend has passed- dear Dan Garret has gone. As many will know he was a S.A.M. PNP.
According to dear Carol she came home to find that he had passed.
Dan was indeed a kind human being, a true friend in every sense of the word and a great Magician. My son and I will be forever grateful to him for his many kindnesses. I knew him for well over 25 years. We had a column together in M-U-M entitled, "World Class Magic " for over 4 years. We spent countless times together in Europe & the US , especially at S.A.M conventions, over many lunches and dinners and fun times in various countries with mutual friends. He sponored me to The S.A.M and was a wonderful support when I started this Assembly. To state that I am more than heart-broken would be an understatement.
I have many wonderul stories and indeed pics of him and cannot decide which one to use. I eventually chose this one.
Rest easy dear friend. Respect. RIP.
