This post is to announce that I have taken the position of General Manager of the Markum Inn. Having worked with Mark consulting, and as interim executive chef over the last 3 years, I have come to appreciate the amount of energy, time and effort put into establishing his part of the history of the Markum Inn. I look forward to working with Markum Inn’s amazing staff to move forward with Mark’s vision for the Markum Inn.

This is to announce that I have started a catering/chef service, as I changed the name of this page a couple of weeks ago. The website, JeffNizlek.com, is up, and while incomplete, should be able to provide basic info and allow me to communicate with people one on one. I will start to put up more things on our media pages for info and a look at what we are doing. Thank you.

While this may come as no surprise to a few of our closest friends, we have decided that we are going to be moving on from the Silver Grille. We take the running of this establishment very seriously and have been blessed with wonderful friends and patrons who have made the effort so rewarding. Because of what Kim and Donna established 23 years ago, the Silver Grille has been fortunate to have quite a run and we want to thank them for what they made, and what we have learned from them. It is hard to express my gratitude at having been able to do something that I love for so long, but we have too many demands outside of the restaurant and we feel it is better to remember it as such a good thing.
As of Sunday September 1st, 2019, the Silver Grille will be closing for regular dinner service and we will be placing the building and business on the market. While we will not be open for regular service after the first, we will be putting together several dinners for long time guests with the intention of being able to say good-bye to the Silver Grille and the chance to say thank you so very much to everyone we can.
In addition, we will be open on select evenings to ensure that we can honor any remaining gift certificates. We realize that this might seem like a very sudden transition, but many events and opportunities have occurred in our lives and we feel that it would be wisest to move on from the day to day operations of a small fine dining restaurant.
We would like to thank so many people for the support and generosity and love that you have shown us for almost 20 years, please know it has been an agonizing decision to go and we will miss it so much because of you.
