Celebrating 150 Years of Dillon Floral (Part 16)
Taken from Florists Exchange and Horticultural Trade World magazine June 5, 1926.
From J. L. Dillon comes a photograph. In one of the Dillon greenhouses, a new one, 450ft. long x 62ft. wide, the Sweet Peas which had been growing at one end of the house were torn down through the center to make a room walled in by flowers, and here on May 20, 1926, was staged a meeting of the Bloomsburg Rotary Club. Demonstrations of flower arrangements were presented by members of the Scranton Florists Club. To put across the FTD idea we had some telegrams delivered during the meeting, one from the president of the Scranton Rotary Club, sending a basket of flowers to the president of the Bloomsburg club. Also, a cablegram directing that a basket of flowers be presented to the mayor of Bloomsburg who was present.
