✨ Client Review ✨

“We can’t say enough about how helpful Amy was with our wedding planning process! In the year leading up to our wedding weekend, Amy had so many great recommendations as we planned our day. She pointed us towards vendors that were not only great at their job, but also just really nice people to work with. She also had plenty of experience working with our venue, the Hall at Fauntleroy, so it was great having her insider knowledge and that established relationship with our most important vendors.

Amy did a great job figuring out what we wanted our wedding to look like and helping us make it a reality. Her positivity and advice kept us on the right track even when wedding planning got stressful. And she always made sure we were the priority, even when family weighed in with some *strong* opinions.

And on our wedding weekend, Amy was a true professional. She kept everyone moving, had every vendor organized, and made sure our wedding party and officiant knew exactly where to be. Even when our ceremony schedule was thrown off by traffic delays, Amy made all the adjustments on the fly and kept things running smoothly. On the day of our wedding, Amy made all the hard decisions and made sure we were able to enjoy the time with our friends and family to the fullest. We hardly had to lift a finger all day!

Amy honestly took so much wedding stress off our plate. She earns her rate, and then some! After the big day, my dad made sure to tell us that “every wedding should have an Amy.””

One of my favorite details are custom vow books and I absolutely adore ’s design and ordering process. She’s inclusive as well, which is extremely important to me, and offers “His & His”, and “Hers & Hers” books.

Having your vows written down (instead of reading off your phone) is more intentional AND aesthetically pleasing. Even if you don’t write your own vows, the books act as a keepsake because you can transcribe your ceremony in them afterwards.

For vow renewals, you’ll know exactly where your ceremony or original vows are for re-reading OR you can turn the page and write new vows. (Make sure to place the date in the upper corner!) This is what my husband and I are doing. It’s so meaningful for me to flip through our books and see our different promises through the years. When we fill our first books, you best believe we’ll be ordering another set 💛

“I do, Round Two”

The perfect title for our most current feature in 💛 In the feature you’ll read about a couple’s love story and how they renewed their vows. Thinking of renewing your own vows? Here’s three common reasons why partners decide to do a vow renewal:

✨ Elopement ✨

We often see couples decide to renew vows in front of loved ones when they opted to originally tie the knot privately. Renewing your vows, whether it’s a year later on your anniversary or the next weekend, is a great way to include friends in family in the celebration without sacrificing your desire for an intimate marriage ceremony.

✨ Anniversary ✨

What better way to celebrate your love than saying your vows to each other again! Many couples decide to do a vow renewal on milestone anniversaries: 10, 25, 50 years, etc. but there’s no hard rule on when you can do it. For example, my husband and I have decided to renewal our vows every 5 years.

✨ Recommitment ✨

Renewing your vows can signify many things for partners, together and individually. Choosing to do a vow renewal after a hardship is a great way to privately (or publicly) recommit to each other. You can choose to re-read your original vows, write new ones, or do a combination of both. No matter what you decide, the vow renewal will be a great way to start fresh.

Floral Purses are on the 2024 Trend Watch List for many wedding planners and designers, and we couldn’t be more excited!

We’re always game for an alternative bouquet! We used this glass purse for a vow renewal last summer and loved the minimalist look. Our bride also pulled the look off flawlessly 💛 Scroll for more images or pickup the latest issue to see more of this look.

Did you know one of our services includes destination weddings? If you reside in Seattle, but are planning for an out of state or abroad wedding, we’d love to chat!

Pricing for destination weddings is similar to our Full Planning (which is listed on our website for transparency) but includes travel and accommodations. If you’re interested in learning more (and seeing if we’d make a good planning team!) let’s get coffee. We’re accepting inquiries for 2026 destination weddings ✈️ 💛 💍

Destination Weddings can be glamorous, fun, and memorable. They can also be exclusive and trendy. Below are some factors to consider when deciding if a destination wedding is right for you.

✈️ *Smaller Guest Count*
Requiring every guest to fly to your wedding will irrevocably lower your RVSP total. For some couples, this is a perfect way to keep guest count low without leaving anyone out on the invite list (although you should never assume!). A smaller guest count can mean a more intimate celebration AND lower budget since guest count is the number one cost deciding factor for a wedding. It can also mean important family members (hi, grandma 👋🏼) might not be able to attend due to mobility or health issues.

✈️ *Meaningful Location*
The location of your wedding should have some importance. Maybe it’s where you met on Spring Break, or the first vacation you took as a couple, it can even be because you’ve always thought the country was beautiful. Just don’t choose a location because it’s trending right now. You want to look back at your wedding memories (and photos!) with fondness, which will be guaranteed if you have a reason for the location.

✈️ *Length of Celebration*
Consider your PTO when planning your destination wedding. If you’re flying somewhere exotic, you’ll want to capitalize on the trip and stay after the wedding. But the time before the wedding is just as (and maybe more) important. Consider taking the week off BEFORE your wedding to ensure you have plenty of packing and travel time. At minimum you’ll want to arrive a few days before your wedding to acclimate to the local time and weather. Travel can also be exhausting and you’ll never regret adding a buffer day to recharge.

Fun Fact Time!

✨ hello! I’m Amy Elizabeth and I’m the owner of AE Events & Design. The “ae” in my business stands for my name.

✨ I’m married to my high school sweetheart. I trained him on the cash register at our first job. We’ve been together for 15 years now, 7 years married!

✨I’m obsessed with dogs, especially our rescue Nika. I’m always down to incorporate your dog into your wedding day.

✨ I grew up on a ranch and even had a pet cow named Penny. I love animals and even “protested” for a decade by being vegan.

✨ We have traditional rings, but my husband and I also have tattoo rings. His has three bands, because my engagement ring has three stones. We break out the gold when we feelin’ fancy.

✨ My favorite color is pink! I even had pink hair for several years when in graduate school.

✨ My toxic trait is I’m always down for an adventure, doesn’t matter if it’s hiking Mt Fuji or going to get coffee. I’ll drop everything, all you have to do is ask.

✨INTENTIONAL✨

Our 2024 goal this year is to be more present and deliberate. That’s it.

Usually we enter the year with a long list of measurable goals. I.e. booking X amount of weddings, to be published in , etc. and I’m not going to lie, we crushed it every year. I do believe in Hustle Culture, especially when launching a business, but sometimes it feels like a never ending to-do list. Crossing off items for the sake of crossing items off.

So this year we’re trying something new and choosing a word to be our mantra: INTENTIONAL. This year we’re going to prioritize being in the moment. Being intentional with our time, energy, and focus. Celebrating the wins when they happen, truly soaking it in, and showing gratitude towards both our community and ourselves.

I don’t know what 2024 will hold for us, but I have a feeling it’s going to be amazing.

Thank you for everyone who has been (and continues to be) a part of our journey. We love you.

“We couldn’t have asked for a better wedding coordinator than Amy! All wedding vendors say that they want to be your friend, but YOU will want to be Amy’s friend after working with her.

Her ability to politely hold people accountable is a skill that cannot be taught. Her partner Jenn was also fantastic, and the two worked together flawlessly.

She kept our heads on straight throughout the planning process with very helpful resources, guides, and industry insight. Everything was thoroughly planned and independently executed without error. Highly recommend!”
