Congrats Ryan + Adriana!

I was so excited to help Ryan plan his proposal in WA, especially since it would be his and Adriana's first time visiting!

We dove deep into possible location options, but as the time got closer, more and more variables seemed to be against us.

- The week prior to his proposal, the PNW was getting slammed with rain - way more (and earlier) than usual. This meant Mount Rainier was getting snow!
- The road to our planned trailhead actually closed 'temporarily' because of the snow, and we didn't know if it would open again.
- The potential government shutdown had us scrambling to find out if our trail would even be open or not!

With so many things against us, and with multiple backup plans in place, the day of the proposal was here... our trail was open, and there was nothing but sunny, clear skies in the forecast!

I hiked the trail early so I could play the part of a 'random hiker just enjoying the view, when really I had my camera gear stashed in the distance - out of sight, but ready to go when the time came.

Again, it could not have worked out more perfectly. Adriana said YES! We hung out the rest of the evening taking pictures, popping champagne, and hiking back down to our cars in the dark. An absolute perfect day at Mount Rainier!

After a super wet, rainy week in the PNW, I think I speak for everyone when we were all amazed at the bluebird day we had Saturday - just in time for Caitlin & Joe’s wedding! Did I mention unobstructed views of Mount Hood all day?

Congratulations Caitlin & Joe on such a beautiful day! I am so grateful our paths crossed, and excited for this new chapter in your lives!

Congrats Jamie & Lucy!!!

Jamie reached out a couple of months ago, excited to propose to Lucy. He was hoping for the North Cascades, but with the recent wildfires, we weren’t sure if that was going to be a possibility. Fast-forward to last week, and the weather looked to be in our favor! Since there’s no service on this trail (and most backcountry trails), we were in constant communication of our game plan. When the day finally came, it couldn’t have gone smoother! The weather was perfect, fall colors were starting to pop, and Lucy said YES!

These two were absolute champs. We wound up hiking a total of 10-11 miles total and made our way back down the trail with headlamps. I love getting to work with such adventurous couples ♥️

The two week countdown is ON for these two! We had an awesome time exploring Oregon earlier this year for their engagement session, and their wedding day is FINALLY just around the corner ♥️ So excited for these two!

I met Walt + Alyssa in the early stages of my photography career, and am so thankful for our friendship over the years. Not only have I been lucky enough to capture such major moments in their lives (engagement, wedding, first maternity and now second maternity!), but we’ve gone hiking, celebrated birthdays, etc.

I’m so glad we got Alyssa’s maternity shoot scheduled in time (literally less than 2 weeks ago) before Walter Jr. made his debut into the world! Congratulations Walter + Alyssa!!! 🥰 I am so happy for you both!

Already pining to go back…

I won a lottery permit to camp in the North Cascades earlier this year, and have been looking forward to this trip ever since- it did not disappoint! The last stretch was a beast, but we made it - and thankfully before the smoke from nearby wildfires started to roll in heavy!

12 miles round trip, 4k elevation gain, and the sights were worth every single step.

We started on a Sunday morning, and the amount of day hikers we saw alone made me so thankful that the require a backcountry permit to camp! It’s a popular hike, for good reason, but I’m hoping people continue/know how to recreate responsibly so it doesn’t turn into a circus.

I loved getting to spend time with Ben and Priya in the Olympics recently ♥️ They traveled all the way from Florida, and also made their way over to Mount Rainier to further celebrate their elopement.

You’re engaged … Now to have a wedding or elopement? How about BOTH!

Engagement season is officially upon us! Nearly 40% of engagements happen between Thanksgiving and Valentine’s Day.

Once engaged, couples then decide how & where they want to get married. For some, they’ve known exactly what they’ve wanted for a long time. For others, maybe they’ve contemplated with the idea of eloping, but still want to celebrate with their family and friends. Well I’m here to tell you, you can do BOTH.

Al and Noelle wanted the best of both worlds - to elope in a gorgeous destination location, but also celebrate with allllll their family and friends. And they did just that.

We met up at Mount Rainier for their engagement session where we had a blast strolling through the foggy forest.
They set their elopement location for ICELAND where we hung out in Vik to get ready and have their first look on the black sand beaches, followed by a private and intimate waterfall ceremony! We went to another black sand beach for more fun and explored the basalt columns, followed by beers at a local brewery. They extended their trip in Iceland for additional excursions, like seeing the northern lights! For their reception, their friends and family all came together back home in Washington where they had delicious, food, fun games, a Mario Kart championship, karaoke, and a Photo Booth!

So yeah, that’s the best thing about planning your wedding day - you can do whatever the hell you want because it’s YOUR DAY. If you want to have a more traditional wedding, there’s nothing wrong with that. But if you want to elope, while still celebrating with your family and friends, you can go that route as well ♥️

It’s our first Christmas without Echo, and it’s hitting hard. We miss him like crazy, and know he would’ve LOVED this cold weather and early snow we got last week.

Have you been to Iceland during winter?
The wind gets so crazy that you have to open and close your car doors with BOTH hands to prevent it from violently swinging open and becoming unhinged - no joke. If it’s raining with that kind of wind, imagine how lovely it feels pelting against your face 🤣
Regardless - experiencing that kind of environment, with Baldur and Bettina, was still fun! They live in Iceland and are used to how crazy the elements can be, so I was stoked that they were still game to adventure around the coast with me….. rain, wind, and all!

Ever thought of eloping in Montana? I’ve been so lucky to travel there every summer for the past several years and it NEVER disappoints. Neither do the couples I get to work with ♥️ Big sky, big mountains, big opportunities!

This year’s weddings are over, and I’m so thankful for all my 2022 couples! What a blast it’s been getting to know so many new faces this year (read: so many new FRIENDS), and have the opportunity to do what I love ♥️

I’m preparing for 2023 now, and already can’t wait for all the new adventures ahead!

This year has been full of so many adventures, and surprises…. like Daniel proposing to Rosie in Washington while they were vacationing from St Louis!

During their engagement session, we hiked around Mount Rainier, saw mountain goats and heard several elk talking to each other! It was a memorable evening for sure ♥️ They even got to see a few different herds of elk, for the first time, on the drive back to their Airbnb! Gotta love Washington.

I can’t wait to share more from this intimate elopement in Colorado! I always get a little sad when I’m almost done with editing because editing allows me to re-live the day over and over! At the same time, I know my couples are so excited to see the rest of their gallery, and it won’t be a day any of us will soon forget ☺️ Don’t worry guys, It’s coming soon!

This summer is seriously flying by already. Sitting here editing photos, trying to figure out how this was already two weeks ago?!? Adventuring with Max + Bizzy in Alaska was one for the books 💯
