"Visit Seattle projects a minimum of $929 million will be generated for King County over the six FIFA World Cup matches set to take place at Seattle’s Lumen Field between June and July of 2026. This projection includes more than $100 million in direct state and local tax revenue and anticipates 20,762 full-time and part-time jobs will be supported."

It was a winning weekend for Seattle Sports! The Seattle Seahawks brought home a 30-18 victory against the Arizona Cardinals, while the Seattle Kraken secured a win over the New York Rangers with a final score of 7-5.

⚽ Seattle Sounders FC topple the #1 seed LAFC and are headed to the Western Conference finals of the Audi 2024 MLS Cup Playoffs! They face LA Galaxy on November 30 at 7:00pm Pacific.

This victory is extra sweet, having broken a 10-game losing streak against LAFC that stretched back to 2021. Jordan Morris netted the winning goal and goalkeeper extraordinaire Stefan Frei's crucial and explosive saves made him the obvious selection for Player of the Match.

Today, the Seattle Sports Commission officially launched ticket sales for the 90th Annual Sports Star of the Year presented by Microsoft, which will take place on Thursday, February 27th, and also announced the first three Honoree Award recipients, including legendary golfer Fred Couples, sports commentator Kenny Mayne, and nonprofit Skate Like a Girl.

October has been a big month for Seattle Sports! In addition to Lumen Field being named a host venue for the FIFA Club World Cup 2025™ next summer (with FIFA President Gianni Infantino announcing that Seattle will host SIX matches during his recent visit to the stadium), Seattle Center has been announced as a FIFA World Cup '26™ Fan Celebration site.

Fans can also look forward to the NCAA's selection of Climate Pledge Arena as a First & Second Round venue for 2028 NCAA® Men's Basketball Tournament, adding to the Madness already coming in 2025. And just last week, Seattle also welcomed two new USL W teams to the sports community.

The wacky cherry on top? The Savannah Bananas have announced their first-ever visit to T-Mobile Park, slated for September 2025! The games may not be until next year, but be sure to join the Ticket Lottery List by this November 1.
