We made it through 2020 & 2021!! However, the real test on what life was going to look like after (during) Covid, was always going to be the first in-person event, the first real work trip that was more than the walk from our bedroom to our home-office desk. Thankfully- After being grounded for over a year, we’re back in action!

Freemind Seattle will be observing today, Juneteenth as an official holiday from here on out. We will be taking this day to reflect and remind ourselves that we must always fight for equality and justice. As a minority-owned company, we stand proudly in solidarity with Black Lives Matter.

[Juneteenth, June 19]
For some background in case you aren’t aware - Juneteenth commemorates the end of slavery in the United States. It originated on June 19, 1865 in Galveston, Texas when troops arrived to take control of the state and free all those who were enslaved. On this day in 1865, over 250,000 slaves saw their freedom, leading to a formal abolishment of slavery in December during the adoption of the 13th Amendment. It wasn’t until 1979 that this day was properly observed in the state of Texas as an official holiday – since then another 47 states have recognized it as well. In fact, this is the longest-running African American holiday. But as it is not recognized as a national holiday, it remains overlooked.

Happy Monday! We are kicking off our week celebrating the monumental decision from the Supreme Court. Freemind Seattle stands by all people, regardless of sexual orientation and will continue to support the rights of all people. 🏳️‍🌈

ARE YOU FEELING THE LOVE YET?! Usually at the end of an event- we collapse on the couch with junk food and wine to chat, catch up, share the shenanigans we witnessed (and/or were apart of). But this time- we got to do it via our group text, with lots of gifs 🥰
