Melrose Market Studios is an urban event space on the west edge of Capitol Hill, just a few blocks from the heart of downtown Seattle. Located in a historic 1927 building that has been completely refurbished, this distinct venue is a stylish place to hold an event for up to 150 people.

The honoree of the 2024 Lifetime Achievement Award at this year’s Davey Awards is Tuxedos & Tennis Shoes’ Executive Chef, Nick Webber!⁠
⁠
We are sad to announce that today is Nick’s last day with DSquared, as he and his family will be moving to Kansas, just short of his 18-year company anniversary. ⁠
⁠
Last weekend, we had the chance to honor Nick’s inspiring career trajectory at our annual company party and awards ceremony, the Davey Awards.⁠
⁠
Nick started as a server in 2007—back when our catering operations were still inside the Hall at Fauntleroy! He also worked in the house team before transitioning full-time into the kitchen.⁠
⁠
After an injury limited his ability to work on his feet, he began organizing our kitchen production digitally, becoming an integral part of our culinary management team as a Sous Chefs, and then the Executive Sous Chef. As DSquared expanded into multiple kitchens, we relied on Nick’s leadership and organizational skills to coordinate and collaborate with our multiple culinary teams.⁠
⁠
In 2022, we interviewed candidates for our Executive Chef role, but no one fit. The solution was right under our nose—the obvious choice from the beginning. ⁠
⁠
Nicks leadership, passion and devotion to his job over the last 4 years have been second to none. ⁠As Nick prepares for his next steps in life, DSquared will need to adjust. It won’t be easy because, as you might have heard throughout his career here, Nick has always shown up. His calming presence isn’t always heard through the volume of his voice, but rather the steady ground he brings. ⁠

Thank you for growing with us for almost 2 decades, Nick—you will be missed! ⁠

Melrose Market, the Capitol Hill block that now houses an indoor food & retail market, including Melrose Market Studios event space, was originally constructed as automotive buildings, built between 1919 and 1926.

Completely refurbished, but still distinctly urban, Melrose Market Studios reflects the history of Seattle with exposed red brick walls, huge Douglas fir beams, high ceilings and a polished concrete floor.

The 5,000 square-foot space accommodates up to 200 guests and can be divided by in-house curtains to form smaller, more intimate areas. Dimmable lighting, Wi-Fi, a projector and screen, and a plug-and-go sound system are a few of the amenities that make Melrose Market Studios an ideal venue for weddings, product launches, conferences, art shows, auctions, holiday parties, and other special events.
