Amazing

On May 10, 2020, we at Balloon Designers celebrated Mother's Day in a unique way this year. As part of the "One Million Bubbles" project, we decided to create something experiential along a half-mile stretch of walking path outside our shop.

The path consisted of 25 different "motivation moments" made up of yard decor elements along with specific comments, statements or questions related to the recent trauma we've all endured with COVID-19. Some of them were intended to be inspirational, some humorous and others hopeful, but ultimately the hope was that everyone walking the path would connect with at least one of these pieces in their own special way.

Then in the center of the route, we created a focal piece intended as a photo op. The organic heart design became the "hot spot" of the tour with socially distanced lines forming to pose for family photos.

"One Million Bubbles" is a global movement that we are proud to share began right here in Issaquah and spread to over 81 countries and nearly 2000 other balloon artists world wide. The project involved balloon professionals using their gifts to bring joy to people darkened by the world we currently live in due to the coronavirus.

Super excited about a couple of events coming up. In addition to our regular things, tomorrow we are doing a baby shower for the nicest couple. Next month, we are really looking forward to a surprise 80th birthday party.

Today I had to opportunity to go on a whale watching tour with Puget Sound Express. We were on their new boat, Saratoga. What a great trip! A sunny day and we saw several whales.

We also enjoyed food prepared by Chef Dane Catering. (www.chefdane.com). I am going to dream about those braised beef short rib sliders tonight.

Enjoyed my annual trip to the Northwest Event Show. I always look forward to connecting with vendors/friends I regularly use and meeting new vendors. And I SOOO look forward to getting my new book every year.

Excellent ILEA Seattle (International Live Events Association) meeting at Meydenbauer. It was all about networking beyond just handing someone your business card. I learned things that I do not do that I SHOULD do, and things that I do that I SHOULD NOT do. Very good presentation. Can't wait for the November meeting.

The Poppy Lounge and Dinner in the Emerald City. The event took place on three different levels of McCaw Hall.Thanks to Crimson Haze for the lighting. Decor in the Lounge was from CORT Event Furnishings, Linens at dinner were by Kaspars Special Events & Catering (napkins, and other rentals from CORT Party Rental), table decor from Iris & Peony. The delicious food we had later was by Savor... McCaw Hall
