About Me
Thank you for visiting my page! I'm so glad you are here.
I started my career 15 years ago in the wedding industry at The Golf Club at Newcastle. There I found my niche for design and love for weddings. The wedding world opened up new opportunities and, in the spirit of festivity, I eventually transitioned into the wine industry working for the Seattle based company, Precept Wine and ran events for its national brands. I grew my expertise and passion for event planning, travel and wine.
In the midst of the hustle, I launched Kayla Cook Events. I started this business as a creative outlet and initially thought of it as more of a hobby – something to keep my creative side alive. After a few years in the corporate event space, I realized I had a hunger to create and design events and wanted to follow that passion full-time, on my own schedule. I truly enjoy the fast-paced environment event life brings and I love working with people, whether it’s planning a dream wedding or executing a large event or conference. Along the way, job referrals have traversed traditional events and delved into staging and interior environments. Both share a common thread: setting the mood. I do that! My approach is details, organization and seamless ex*****on. I have a penchant for design and natural eye for details. The challenge to create something new fuels my creativity. People—my clients—serve as my first source of inspiration. I draw ideas from hearing their stories, their goals, and their nuances. From there it’s a collaborative process I’m more than comfortable stewarding for great results.
Today, I live in a suburb of Seattle called Kirkland with my husband and we are enjoying being newlyweds, as we just tied the knot in November! I rarely have a “normal day.” I’m usually running between meetings with clients, onsite at an event or designing something for the next project. I like to stay busy; I think it’s wired in my DNA. I’m truly loving living everyday in my passion - creating beautiful events and working with people.
