Seattle City Light is the steward of the Georgetown Steam Plant. City Light is the 10th largest public electric utility in the United States. It has some of the lowest cost customer rates of any urban utility, providing reliable, renewable, and environmentally responsible power to about 750,000 Seattle area residents. City Light has been greenhouse gas neutral since 2005, the first electric utilit

y in the nation to achieve that distinction. The Georgetown Steam Plant is currently open to the public the second Saturday of every month, 10 a.m. View the City’s policies at http://seattle.gov/digital

Thank you so much for being here! we’re gratefully reflecting on 2024 and excited to share some of the stats recounting the beautifully human connections made at and around the Steam Plant.

Over 200 (!!) tours, classes, community meetings, events and celebrations!
Over 14,000 visitors of all ages.
1,200 new people joined us on Instagram
1,000 new community members joined our mailing list

One of the (many) reasons the Steam Plant has been called the “Industrial Cathedral”; these tall walls are perfect for singing.

Grateful to have hosted the Crowdsource Choir several times in 2024, as well as quite a few musicians recording videos or taking promo photos.
