One of our favorite surprises on a wedding weekend? Seeing the 'fits our couples rock for their welcome events and rehearsal dinner. While we're deep in the nitty gritty of their wedding style, we often keep these wardrobe choices an intentional surprise. I've never been more proud to be a member of the service industry. I wake up every day and get to help people. My actions create a direct and positive impact, a feeling that is both inspiring and boundless the more I lean into it. This week, that feeling is more important than ever, and will likely continue to be so in the years ahead.Thank you to everyone who is showing up in the best way they know how. Thank you to everyone who is taking time to process their grief. Thank you to everyone who plans to get in action on the local level behind the causes they believe most in. Thank you to everyone who has been in action the whole damn time.

We stand with our LGBTQ+ community: whatever you may be feeling at this moment, it is valid. We are here with you, today and tomorrow, shoulder to shoulder, and will be fighting our rights as one.It's hard to know what to say at this moment. "Onward together" is what we know for certain. In that spirit, we are ready for our first action in this next chapter: to make more opportunities available for folks to get married before Inauguration Day.

If getting legally married is now more important than ever, and if you want to celebrate that choice with a custom written ceremony, we are here for you. We wish we could do more, but for now, we are opening up three officiating slots through the end of the year.

A little shop talk meets advice for engaged couples here: We want to make sure you get photos of the important details from your wedding day. But quite honestly? The Martha-Stewart-publication-of-your-details-shot is NOT a photo you are going to look back on fondly from your wedding day, nor is it one you will likely print and frame. If you want details photos, we recommend budgeting time for your photographer to take key items and style them in the environment in which you're getting ready. They will be all the more sentimental for the space attached to your memories being a part of the shot. That, and you may just get something awesome, artistic, and worthy of printing and placing in the at-home spaces where you get ready each morning.

Just another carefree elopement in the woods. We love supporting elopements because it strips down the moment of marriage to pure presence and connection. It is the core of what is important on any day: whether you're celebrating with one or 100 of your loved ones. These days in the forest keep us grounded in the core purpose of these celebrations and we are so grateful to the couples who invite us in to plan or officiate on their behalf.

Weddings are designed for the couple, NOT the other way around. Controversial opinion? Maybe. But we stand by it (read on).After almost a decade in this industry, we've seen a lot of advice flying around these social media streets. Some of it is rooted in the genuine interest of helping couples. Some of it is based in wanting to boost the clout of vendors who want to share their couples' wedding-generated content online. Often, advice can and does serve both purposes.

That being said, we will happily call out when a vendor is offering advice that only serves the interest of their portfolio. A person's wedding IS NOT your design platform. We are so lucky that couples identify our creative businesses and choose to invest in our vision and talents. And we should not be taking that for granted.

Finding genuine and authentic alignment between what a couple wants and what you can offer is the sweet spot. Forcing a couple in a direction that serves your portfolio or chances of publication is the dark side of this industry.

Vendors: represent what you are, what you do, and how you do it from the beginning of the relationship. If you want to express without constraint and update your portfolio, plan a styled shoot. Don't force your couples into boxes they don't belong in for the sake of online clout. These are real peoples' budgets and experiences--treat them with the respect and care they deserve.
