Thanksgiving at the iconic kid’s table! Even back then- faint eyebrows! I wish my Dad was alive to ask about this memory. We were living in Minnesota and traveled down to Iowa - I believe to a relative. Maybe a parent cousin? I do remember the big farm, lots of places to explore! Happy Thanksgiving!

Look who heard my voice and recognized me at Portland Flower Market this morning! !! It was so nice to meet her in person! Tiffany is such a sweet person and a hard worker! She lives just the other side of Astoria, Oregon and even though we encourage each other - this is our first in person meeting!! Big hugs and smiles happened!

This was such a fun wedding! Their love story is so charming and reading the wedding ceremony - it was so thoughtful and full of love that I had tears - just reading the prayers spoken. Bless you Janie and Bart! I am so excited for your new life together! and thank you Brooke for a wonderful peak at the photos.. can't wait to see them all!

Our local Pacific STEM Robotics Club (Long Beach WA Peninsula) really needs your support to raise funds for equipment and technology for their Mobile Robotics Lab. Help us update our equipment and technology! We need new tech devices to host future camps and the mobile learning lab: chrome books and more. Proposal at the beach with sunflowers! There was rain! But flowers love the rain! The groom to be had some definite ideas - and it was so fun to create this beautiful setting for them to discover as they walked along the beach! V's Coastal Market & Deli provided a lovely sparkling cider and charcuterie board too! Photographer is so great - can’t wait to see her pro photos!

Personal update: I have been a bit quiet about things but so many friends are checking in on me - I decided to post about what is going on- other than all the pretty flowers. After getting COVID last month, my long awaited heart procedure was postponed. I was able to reschedule due to someone else’s misfortune. This week -I had a third heart ablation at OHSU - where my electrophysiology cardiology team has been watching over me for the last 10 yrs. (Including Heather in Astoria) My doc had planned a fancy new type of procedure - but in the end - my heart decided to keep us guessing and he ended up doing the more standard radio wave ablation - fixing up some places that have created issues for me. Happily that meant just 4 hrs - instead of the scheduled 8 hrs +. It also means an easier recovery this week. There are no promises and I may be back for more. I need to do my part to change the trajectory of my heart issues. After spending the night in Cardiac ICU - and gosh I am counting my blessings - there are some really sick people there- my sweetheart Brett Malin was able to take my hand and I walked out on my own. I am home now - resting and recovering. Since I can’t lift anything over 10 pounds this week - flowers will wait and resume next week. I have 9 more weddings in 2024 (really looking forward to them!) and booking into 2025 ready! During my down time with covid and recovering in ICU - I had time to time think about how the last 4 years have been a blurr- 7 days a week of flowers! I missed some important things and I also saw the result of what could be me - in those ICU beds! It is time to get back to how life was in 2019 - but better! That means I will slow down with floral deliveries to focus on the wonderful weddings, memorials, workshops and special arrangements. I hope to hold some workshops (miss them!), welding up some topiaries, travel a bit, spend time with Brett, see adult children and grandchildren - and most importantly - get back to exercising - which took a back seat during the Covid/flower frenzy last 4 years. In 2019 I was jogging the streets of Seaview so much - my neighbors grew concerned if I missed a day! Remember how Apple did a commercial on me with my watch and monitoring my heart?! I was also featured in Tim Cook’s Apple keynote speech that year! It is time to regain what I lost and also get back to weight lifting and spend time on some other projects that are important - like the salmon hatchery in Chinook. We need volunteers if any of you want to join us! COVID hit the hatchery hard! (More on this later!) In short, I am going to focus on my future vibrant heart happy life! I will be making more changes - but first - recover and have fun with the fabulous weddings coming up!

The Bride loves lilies! She wanted lilies - white, green and a touch of other colors. And especially pops of saffron! It took a bit of work - but it happened!! I love making floral dreams happen! So thankful that my brides trust me to create magic - which also means in season, affordable and in their budget! So so beautiful! Wonderful photo by !
