Vase care 101: If you desire longer lasting flowers.

Daily basis: rinse the stems, cut the ends, and clean the vase. This eliminates bacteria, the main culprit of premature vase flower death.

When rinsening the stems make sure you aren’t just running water over the stems. The bacteria needs to be washed away. Rinse the stems like you were going to eat them.

If a rose wilts/is wilting: this is due to air being drawn into the stem.

Fill a sink with warm water. Cut the end of the rose. Submerge the ENTIRE rose head and all under water. Keep it under water until the petals have firmed/rehydrated. When it has rehydrated remove from submerged water and place back in the vase of roses. Repeat as needed until all of the air in the stem is removed.

It is a fallacy that the stems need to be cut at any angle. Cutting is to unclog the stems of bacterial build up. The angle of the cut is irrelevant.
