Following up on yesterday's post - delphinium had been one of my favorite things to dry this summer - I in awe every time I pull them out. It takea about 10 days in silica gel sand for perfect preservation!

Can you tell which stems are fresh and which are dried?

Ive been fascinated with drying flowers for the last couple of years and have learned a lot about how to get the best color, shape and stability. Ive dried so much this summer in anticipation of the many creative projects I have planned for the fall and holiday seasons.

Fall and dried flower season is just around the corner and im excited to share some of the things ive been working on soon!

The first mistake you’ll want to avoid is taking care of the stems of your flowers. Make sure to cut the stems the right way, as this is crucial for their health and lifespan. Use sharp scissors or shears to trim the stems, and always cut at an angle. This helps the flowers take in more water and stay fresh longer. Also, remember to remove any leaves that will be underwater in the vase. Leaves below the water can rot and make the water dirty. #freshflower #flowerfarm #flowercare #flowertips #flowers101

😌 Here's a little secret that works well for me, and might for you as a grower. When planting biodegradable bags, I recommend making a small rip at the side and then pulling it down. This allows you to completely cover the biodegradable piece when you plant it so it doesnt wick moisture up moisture and dry out your plant.
