Dear community, this post is bittersweet. Oh how we wish we could communicate this individually, over hot cider at the market. For a myriad of reasons we are moving to the midwest. The main one being, to live closer to my parents and have time with them while they are overall healthy.

The BARN SALE (all product with be 50% off!) will be on March 17th - 19th from 9-6pm and we would LOVE to see as many of you as possible before we begin the moving process. Please help us spread the word about the sale!!! We want to honor any outstanding gift certificates!!

It has been an absolute JOY to be part of this community and to see so many of you on a weekly basis! Thank you for your love and understanding.

Hello from Red Barn on Ridge, we wish we had happier news in the New Year. Stephanie (the cheerful, artistic and creative woman so many of you know from the market) lost her husband this week. Provided is a link (in website section of our page if link below does not work) to the Gofundme if you would like to help Stephanie and her daughters during this time. THANK YOU for all of your thoughts, prayers and support.

Thank you for a wonderful 2021 Red Barn on Ridge season. Words fall short at adequately expressing our gratitude for the relationships formed and for the opportunity to be part of this community. Grateful for you!

The market is now closed for the winter, we will have a barn sale at the end of January and will reopen sometime in April.

We will be signing off social media for at least a few weeks. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and yours!

During Advent, our lists of preparations are long. After all, the season celebrates the arrival of a royal visitor. It should be festive. We decorate our homes. We cook and clean. We sing songs and attend services. Indeed, the coming guest deserves the best. Yet, in that town of Bethlehem, the infant king came silently. O come, let us slow down, and reflect. O come, let us adore Him!

Though subdued, winter's color palette is as hopeful as the warm tones of spring and summer. Restful neutrals and crisp whites seem to calm commotion. They make a space for peace and quietness. They reset the canvas for a new beginning.

We know how much you love fresh, clean furnishings, so we've brought some unique treasures to the store. Shop our selection of pearl- and ivory-tone wares this weekend and energize your decor for the New Year.

A light in the window warms your weary soul. The brush of greens at the door draws you near and says, "Come in! Our home is ready. We've prepared a place for you. You belong; you're wanted and welcomed here." Enduringly beautiful and resilient - fir, spruce, and winterberry withstand winter's cold blows. They seem to represent strength in the face of adversity. Crown-like wreaths shout, "We're celebrating a grand triumph. We mark a celebration. Enter here to join the festivities!"

Send a message of hope this season. Dress your entry with freshly-cut pine sprays, trees, and wreaths from the farm. We're here Thurs-Sat to help you select the perfect pieces for your home.

The Joy of Giving by John Greenleaf Whittier (1807-1892)

Somehow, not only for Christmas,
But all the long year through,
The joy that you give to others
Is the joy that comes back to you.

And the more you spend in blessing
The poor and lonely and sad,
The more of your heart’s possessing
Returns to make you glad.

How have local business owners touched your life? Didn't the village florist make all your wedding dreams come true? Don't those family pictures - captured by the town photographer - make your heart melt? Didn't your mechanic come to your rescue when the car broke down last fall and isn't Chelsea the only stylist on earth who can make you look and feel fabulous? You've had more than tune-ups and haircuts. You've gained deep friendships and stellar service. Your town has received much-needed funds that have made it more beautiful, safe, and prosperous. These are causes - and people - worth supporting. So join us this weekend as we give back to our neighborhood business owners. Shop small this Saturday!

Trim the tree, build gingerbread houses, sip cocoa, wrap gifts, the list goes on and on. Do you ever wish you could honor your traditions but skip the hustle and bustle? You want the moments and the memories, but you can't seem to quit the chaos. We want to help. Here at the farm, we've created a quiet space for you to embrace a new tradition - rest. Gather with your family in our cozy photo area. Reflect on the events of the year, and capture a few moments with some simple snapshots. Come when you can; set your own pace. We've decked the stalls and made all the preparations so that you can take a breath (and a picture) in a classy country setting. Visit us today until 6pm and throughout the Christmas season.

Days grow shorter. Nights turn frigid. Winter is unique and beautiful, but sometimes, it feels bleak. You mourn the loss of summer sunshine and dread the coming cold. Your heart craves warmth and light, comfort and joy. Our Celtic Christmas collection meets you where you are and transports you to the rolling hills of the Scottish highlands. Brighten your home with our vibrant plaids and gleaming lanterns. Cozy up by the fireside with a cloth-bound book of poems or sip cocoa from a vintage Thermos. Shop at the Barn Thurs-Sat from 9-6.

In this holiday season, you may be wondering, "What should I give?" Maybe ask yourself, "How do my loved ones show affection?" Let their personalities be your guide. Choose stationery for the friend who speaks (or writes) kind words. To the mother whose touch is gentle, give handcrafted soap or soft linens. Perhaps an act of service - cooking a meal using fresh produce - would be meaningful. Your gift could be time. Spend a few minutes browsing our shop with your loved one, and find a treasure together. We'll come alongside to help you find the perfect items. Visit us Thursday-Saturday for support and suggestions.

Faces on the Farm:
If you have visited the market on a Thursday you have had the privilege of meeting our friend Joy! You will see touches of her creativity in the barn, especially this season, as she is the one making the unique dried floral pumpkins for your table. We are so grateful for her!🍁

“No decorating style has been as long-lasting and as universally liked as country. Part of its appeal today lies in the fact that the simplicity of rural life are seen as an effective refuge from urban pressures. Our affection for it may also be a rebellion against those decorating fashions in which elaborate swagging, dragging and draping have held sway. The comfortable, unstructured look of country style seems, by contrast, relaxingly natural.”
