Private Guitar Instruction As a child, my parents took me to private music lessons. My teachers were the best available. Many times these are different than mine.

They had masters’ degrees in all sorts of musical things. Rigorous practice was not just suggested, it was a requirement. Their teaching philosophy was to push a student as hard and as far as they could. I admit that (musically speaking) much of what I am today I owe to those lessons. However I’d like to think that I’ve adopted a slightly different teaching style than that of my childhood teachers

. I've come to understand that every student has different goals and musical aspirations. I've found that students are more likely to excel at the guitar if I am to guide them in exploring their own interests rather than imposing my musical preferences on them. In this, my students are able to establish a lifelong relationship with the guitar, instead of losing interest after a season, because I make it about their passion for music, not mine. And so I find myself teaching a wide variety of students, both on the acoustic and the electric guitar. There are the not yet famous rock stars, the studious classical and jazz enthusiasts, the folk guitarists who just want to sing some songs, and those workaholics who use guitar lessons as therapy or as a way to relax after a long day at the office. Whether you just want to pick up the guitar as a hobby or if you want to make it your lifestyle, this is the place to be.
