Millcreek Valley News Lockland Boy Dies In Bataan April 3, 1942
Private Paul H. Vail Wounded in Action January 25
News of the death of Private Paul H. Vail, 19 year old, son of Mrs Louise Vail, Mill Street, Lockland, was received in a telegram from the War Department to his mother, March 28th.
On February 6, Mrs Vail received a telegram notifying her that her son had been wounded in action January 25, with General MacArthur’s men on Bataan Peninsula.
Born in Sharonville, Vail was widely known as baseball and basketball player at Sharonville High School. He later pitched for the Reading Merchants baseball team.
