Lighten up the menu with a bountiful basket of vegetables. The key is to choose a variety of colors and textures sliced in a variety of shapes and sizes. Layer them in an unexpected bowl or basket (lined with plastic wrap). I'd hardly call this a "recipe" which is why it's one of the best appetizers for last minute (or unexpected) gatherings. Stock up on jars of your favorite marinated items (artichokes, olives, peppers, mushrooms, cheeses). Pour them into mason jars, fancy coupes, or festive bowls and simple ingredients become memorable! Pick up a copy of Gathering Boards for more entertaining tricks and tips.

Mini goat cheese balls can be transformed into all sorts of festive holiday appetizers. I stacked herbed goat cheese balls into a tree and finished it off with rosemary and a cheddar star. My friend and entertainer extraordinaire created this stunning wreath by rolling balls in a variety of holiday-colored nuts, herbs and dried fruit. Classic Swiss fondue on a cold winter night feels indulgent but is surprisingly uncomplicated. You can find my recipe and serving tips in Gathering Boards, wherever you buy books. Having my girls under one roof for the holidays called for a versatile dinner with plenty of protein for the 1 vegetarian and the 2 salmon-lovers. My Salmon Niçoise salad comes together fast and the tangy dressing is easy and delish. Pile the ingredients over a bed of lettuce for a make-your-own Nicoise inspired bowl.

Need a festive brunch or snack that comes together in minutes this holiday season? These 3-ingredient cranberry goat cheese croissants were a huge hit at a client's book club last night. 🥐🎄🍷

1 dozen mini croissants
1 16 oz log cranberry cinnamon goat cheese
1/4 cup chopped fresh rosemary

Bring goat cheese to room temperature. Slice and spread onto sliced croissants, sprinkle with rosemary. Garnish with fresh rosemary and cranberries for a festive presentation.

Hard to believe my book launch party is on Sunday! Hope you can join me for some apps, a raffle, and cash bar.

I've gotten some questions about the event that I'll try to answer here:

- books are available for purchase at the event ( limited quantities)

- books will be "officially" on shelves at my shop and others around town, in local bookstores, and across the country later in June!

- you can also order from Amazon, B&N, etc.

- if you pre-ordered and your copy arrives after the signing, not to worry. I'll be having other events this summer or can arrange to meet to sign any time!
