You may be suprised how short the stem length is on your bridal bouquet, why is this?
Short stems length aides in the overall look and feel of the bouquet. It makes holding your bouquet correctly a simple task for the best photos possible.
Walking down the aisle there are a million things running through your mind, how you hold your bouquet may be one of the last you think about. Shorter stems forces your bouquet posture to be correct, with the bouquet head facing away from your body and allowing the blooms to be shown in their full glory.

Sustainability: It’s no secret that the floral industry can be full of waste and practices that are not environmentally friendly. I personally am very passionate about sustaining our earth for ourselves and future generations. Here’s a little low down on what Eclectic Florals does to cut down on waste and practice green business:

Vases: All vases used to transport wedding bouquets are either recycled from previous weddings or completely thrifted.

Scraps: All scraps are composted into our home compost pile, which is then used to grow flowers and vegetables. Organic material does. Or break down effectively in landfills, or therefore you won’t catch any of our scraps in the trash can.

Floral Foam: Typical floral foam is not biodegradable, therefore starting in 2025 Eclectic Florals will be using Oshun Pouches in place of floral foam which is a 100% biodegradable alternative. This will take effect after we have used the stock of floral foam we already have.

Hard Materials: Cardboard boxes that flower boxes all get a second use during transport and THEN get recycled. Rubber bands get used multiple times bunching flowers together. Ribbon scraps get saved to use at a later date. We get as much use out of “trash” as physically possible.

Leftover Flowers: No one flower goes to waste. Leftover flowers from weddings get put on the curb in a bucket for the community to make little bouquets out of. Some get dried to be framed and assembled into other arrangements.

Working towards a sustainable industry is the goal, little by little 🤍 ♻️

A few facts about my work process:

I don’t have a picture perfect Pinterest studio, I work out of my kitchen, and pretty much the rest of my down stairs.

The summer is filled with kids and my dog between my feet or pulling on my clothes asking for snacks, or just some attention while I process your wedding flowers for longevity.

I spend hours sourcing your flowers, sitting on my back deck, or on my big couch trying to find the perfect flowers with the biggest blooms and lowest prices.

My work station is unorganized, I’m constantly asking myself where my clippers are, or who took my floral tape (it was me 100% of the time).

Things are not perfect by any means but I promise my whole heart goes into every bridal bouquet, every centerpiece, every ceremony install, and so on. 🤍

Waited to post these until I could say I had my photos done by a Vogue Magazine featured photographer Cassandra Weber Photos. Always keeping it fresh and blowing me away. I’ve never met a more genuine person and it completely shows in her work. Thank God for vendors that are not only amazing at what they do, but good people on their day to day.

Can’t wait to create and explore with all my fellow vendors and beautiful couples this season.

Let’s talk about “wildflower” wedding flowers.
Did you know that around 95% of the wildflower bouquets that you find on Pinterest do not contain actual wildflowers?
The growing trend is beautiful and I absolutely love doing them, although sometimes a little difficult!

Here’s how we achieve it:
Flowers from some of our favorite flower farmers in NEPA including Woodpecker Hollow Flowers who supplied me with those beautiful peach geum and bleeding hearts. Most of their flowers are not native Pennsylvania flowers but grow beautifully here!

Foraging! I myself get out into the feilds and forests to find some favorites like fern, thistle, and rice flower.

Some of your favorite flowers (like cosmos) would start wilting before your ceremony even starts, picking the flowers that can thrive without water is key.

Picking flowers that may not be wild but ultimately give that wild and free feel, some of my favorites are zinnia, delphinium, snapdragons, statice, and daisies.

Time of year is key, Pennsylvania growing seasons and short and some specific blooms may not be available during your wedding date. Keep an open mind and let your florist work their magic ✨

A couple bouquet shots from Lexi + Ben’s wedding last year. Their wedding took place at Lexi’s childhood home and I remember vividly her dad saying how happy they were she was getting married in the very place she grew up at. I have such a soft spot in my heart for backyard weddings, especially here where the gardens were immaculate and the family was so lovely and helpful. 🤍
