For those of you who haven't heard, friend of the festival, AnnaLee Scully has suffered a stroke. The following is an update from her family:

From Anna Lee’s family: Thank you everyone for your positive thoughts and prayers. 💓 If you have not heard, Anna Lee is recovering from a stroke. She is on the mend and there are positive signs. The fight is still there. She appreciates knowing so many friends are rooting her on. She is the most loving person, and she makes friends easily through her immense empathy and ability to connect. Because of this, as word spreads, we are not always able to respond given the immense amount of people who care for her. We kindly ask during this time that her friends also respect our family’s privacy, as all of our energy is being spent at the hospital with her to support her recovery. We will reach out to friends when we are able and will keep general updates here on her page when we have pertinent information. In the meantime, please keep sending all the healing energy. Thank you so much.

A great friend to the Mielke Theater for many years. Rest easy my friend. You now grace Heaven's stage. We will miss you greatly.

Our beautiful, loving wife, mother and grandma passed away peacefully on June 10, 2024, at home with her family by her side. She fought a battle against cancer that no one should have to fight, but did it with incredible courage, dignity, and grace. Ann was born on June 6,

KATIE DAHL PRESENTS ALBUM RELEASE CONCERT AT WOODWALK GALLERY - EGG HARBOR WI

Nationally touring, Door County based singer-songwriter Katie Dahl will play a concert at Woodwalk Gallery in Egg Harbor on Friday, June 7th, at 7pm. This is Dahl's only planned solo performance in Door County this summer or fall. American Songwriter says that Katie Dahl "delivers razor-sharp lyrics with a hearty, soulful voice."

Known for writing evocative, intelligent songs with a strong sense of place, Katie Dahl is an internationally touring playwright and songwriter whose work Wisconsin Public Radio calls "the real deal". Though she's particularly well-known in Door County, Dahl has earned accolades across the country and beyond for the depth and power of her alto voice, the literate candor of her songs and the easy humor of her live performances. Her performance at Woodwalk comes at the end of a spring tour that took her to Kansas, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Michigan, Indiana, South Carolina and Texas.

Dar Williams says, "Katie Dahl's songs aren't just melodies and words, they're journeys that are firmly grounded in a sense of place---beautiful, real landscapes that help you feel places that you may have never been before. The very best kind of songwriting. "

Woodwalk Gallery is located at 6746 County Rd G in Egg Harbor. Tickets are $28 and are available at www.woodwalkgallery.com. Doors open at 6pm and show begins at 7pm. A cash bar will sell beer and other malted beverages, sparkling water and soda. Audience members are welcome to arrive early for bring-your-own picnics under a tent behind the barn.

Another talented performer that has shared his talents at the Shawano Folk Music Festival has passed on.

Memphis musician Tommy Burroughs was a top local country-folk-bluegrass musician. Burroughs died Tuesday at the age of 62.
