This year has been a huge leap for our Windward Blooms grown blooms at the farm. To recap...
🦋 We added at least 6 new varieties to our cut field
🔥 We increased our cutting farm production by 60
💐 We opened our You-Cut to the public
We are sad to see it go, but ready for the break as we shift gears and start putting the beds to rest for winter, digging and dividing dahlias for more production next year, and starting our grow room calendar for 2025. Believe it or not , well have our trays washed and ready to go before Christmas for some of our cold friendly annuals.
As a reminder, we offer blooms year round!!!!!! Not just a farm, more than a florist. We're looking forward to lush fall colors, winter greens and reds, and a record setting Valentine's Day

New name who dis!
After two and a half years of being at Windward, it's officially time to drop off the "Lost Acre Homestead". When we moved to Windward, my business was Lost Acre Homestead and we really wanted to marry the names to keep up our brand recognition and let our customers know we were the same people. It was always a bit clumsy, I never loved the name, but it worked and to be honest, I was attached! As of yesterday we're officially Windward Farm and Windward Blooms, and our social handles are @windwardfarmandgardens .

This upcoming weekend's wedding has been one of those that has had me excited from the start. The bride is a creative herself and came to us with a flexible budget, fun color palate, and the willingness to give creative freedom as long as the focus was on the flowers.
Say less babe.
Tuesday - ordered blooms arrived
Wednesday - harvest and condition out Windward grown blooms
Thursday - Prep candle pillars ; green out designs
Friday - Personals, add blooms to arrangements and ceremony design
Saturday - showtime ✨

You know what that means... Hay day all day long! Reed and I will be slaying bales today and tomorrow and offering $5/bale self serve field pickup through tomorrow morning. You MUST let us know if your coming so that we don't pick up your bales, and so we can collect that 💰💰💰
Huge shout out to Atlantic Tractor out of Hagerstown and our friends at Sundogs Bed and Breakfast, Shepherdstown, WV for recommending them. Virginia Tractor left us dead in the field with a dead DEF component and 30 acres cut and windrowed and said sorry we have a three week backlog. We called AT as new customers and they had a tech out in 3 hours, who returned this morning to install the part. Thrilled to have a new dealer that actually stands by their farmers.

I've been watching a lot of Bridgerton and finally had a bride requesting free creative reign and C💜O💛L💚O💙R💗.... So here we are, some delightfully #Bridgerton inspired wedding design for the bride and her bridal party. The brides family is picking this up at the farm shop for a super easy, stress free experience and we're thrilled to be part of it.
