Look! 👀 Our work was featured in the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette / ArkansasOnline.com article remembering the life and legacy of Thelma Mothershed Weir. It was such an honor to provide the flowers for the memorial service of a Little Rock legend and civil rights icon! 🕊️

Friends and family of Thelma Mothershed Wair said their final goodbyes Saturday to the Little Rock Nine member at a memorial service at Pulaski Heights United Methodist Church.

𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐈𝐬𝐬𝐮𝐞? The City of Sherwood operates under two different laws when it comes to businesses being able to sell off-premise alcohol. Due to a law passed in the 1950’s, the area NORTH of Maryland (known as the defunct Gray Township) is still dry, and businesses cannot have off-premise alcohol sales. Because of this law, economic development has not been able to grow in the north part of town. Changing this law will allow certain businesses to thrive under their most profitable business model.

𝐈𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐚𝐥𝐜𝐨𝐡𝐨𝐥? NO! Changing the law may open the door to bringing an anchor store to the area, which in turn could bring other businesses (shopping, restaurants, retail) to the area. This would drive traffic to the area during the day, increasing visibility of current businesses in the area, allowing them to prosper more. This is about unifying the laws in Sherwood so that ALL businesses can operate the same.

𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐝𝐨𝐞𝐬 𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐝𝐨? We need 4000 signatures for this to make it on the Ballot in November to allow residents in the area to vote on the issue.

𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐩? Sign the petition. Watch for community signing events and for volunteers going door to door. Encourage your friends and neighbors to sign the petition. Walk your neighborhood to get signatures.

It is time to 𝐀𝐂𝐓 𝟒 𝐒𝐇𝐄𝐑𝐖𝐎𝐎𝐃!.
