Mikey’s will not be at Henningsen Lotus Park today - there was no place available for us to park😢. Mikey is probably having brain surgery again on Tuesday, so not exactly sure when we will be back. Send Mikey good vibes, he needs them more than ever 🤕❤️

Hey guys! Mikey took a spill out of the food truck this morning (Friday 5/31)- so we had to shut down so he could get checked out. We will definitely be back out at Henningsen Lotus park tomorrow (Saturday 6/1) with Kelly at the grill. Mikey will be there to micro manage, so come out and give him some love!

Hey Lotus & Coloma friends! Does anyone have a place we can park the truck during the week when we aren’t in the park ? We can pay for the spot or trade for free food or both! Just need access to water. Would like to stay in the valley so we don’t have to drive the truck up and down Lotus grade every day (that’s how we blew the head gasket last time). I have great gl insurance and can add you as additionally insured if needed.

Hey friends! After weeks of pleading, attending Board of Supervisors meetings, and negotiations, I am happy to announce that Mikey’s Kilted Kitchen will be at Henningsen Lotus Park Thursday- Saturday, all but 1 week out of the month beginning next week-throughout the summer. Thank you for all the support, acts and kind words you have all given to us during the uncertain times.
Also a big shout out to Justin and Veronica Boyd aka Marco Coloma and the other Lotus business owners who worked with us on a compromise so that we could proceed with this season at the park. We look forward to to seeing you this summer. We love you all💜.

Open letter to the Lotus Business Community:
We received a letter yesterday saying our contract for Henningson Lotus Park was canceled. Apparently there was a board of supervisors meeting Tues about us- yet we were never notified so we could even speak on our behalf.
Just so you are understand what financial stress you and your ilk put me in, let me tell you the entire situation:
Last year the county contacted us to bid this job. I spent almost a full year working with the county on the contract ( which we would be paying them 10% of gross receipts to be there). We had to get the most comprehensive insurance since the contract was finalized in October- so we have been paying premiums upwards of 500$ a month for 6 months because the county required it for our contract to be valid even though we weren’t going to start in Lotus until April. Aside from staggering insurance we hired employees, purchased new equipment because we knew we could recover our costs this summer. But because of the unfounded and presumptive complaints and fear of having 1 other vendor in Lotus, we are ruined . And why? Because people like you were scared of the unknown.
Why are your tax dollars worth more than mine? I have lived in this county all my life , 3rd generation in this county. During the Caldor fire we fed evacuees for over a month for free. We have fed the homeless on multiple occasions, gathered donations of socks to give out to the homeless for Christmas-because we care about our community and the people that live here.
So, yeah. I am completely broken now, and will have to let my employees go.
What’s also so frustrating is that some of the businesses that complained, are businesses and friends we have supported for years.
I really hope you and the others that complained understand the full gravity of this situation- my business is in shambles, my hopes completely gone and 3 employees now scrambling to find work. All of this on the heels of Mikey recovering from brain surgery, not even 6 weeks ago.
I always thought that our little community was about supporting one another, lifting each other up so we all prosper-but I was so wrong.

Hey! In case you haven't heard, Mikey's Kilted Kitchen will be at Henningson Park in Lotus from April- October Thursday- Sunday every week. We are so excited to see all our beautiful friends and neighbors again soon! Also, we are looking for a place to park the truck during the days we are not at the park so we don't have to drive back up the grade to P'ville each week. We are willing to make you tasty food to trade or pay for a spot nearby. Also, we are hiring!
