Today’s is showing off a new white variety of poinsettia we got in this year

This little guy would look handsome on just about anybody’s desk or kitchen counter!

ATTENTION ANIMAL LOVERS:

Although poinsettias (among other plants) have toxic properties to our furry friends, it IS only mildly. Mild symptoms to look out for include:

-vomiting (swallowed leaves)
-drooling (chewed leaves)
-diarrhea (rare)
-skin irritation (sap & skin contact - the sap can irritate your skin too so remember to wash your hands!)
-eye irritation (sap & eye contact can cause pink eye)

Poinsettia poisoning is often self-limiting due to these cautionary reactions and thus does not usually require medical attention, although, there is always the rare chance for a pet to have an extreme reaction.
In case of an extreme reaction, labored breathing, contact with eyes, or no signs of improvement after a few days, you should get in touch with your pet’s vet.

You know your pet’s personality and willingness to listen and learn best, so of course as with so many other things in life: proceed with caution, but do not fear for total disaster 🐈
