As I face the arrival of the first Second Saturday season without Bill Lisk, once again there is an obvious absence of him. Bill absolutely loved coordinating this music series and the opportunity that it gave all of us to connect thru the music that was so special to him. I know my sadness that an era has ended is shared by all of our kind and devoted supporters and performers. I am so grateful for all of you and hope your memories of Second Saturday always bring some joy to you too.

It’s with a heavy heart to share the passing of Second Saturday’s creator, Bill Lisk. Bill became suddenly ill 9/23 and fought a hard battle with an unknown culprit that finally took him physically at the University of Kansas Medical Center on 10/10/2018. We enjoyed many, many years of sharing some of the best folk, original, Old time and traditional music with our community. The musicians who shared their music were the finest and the best in this business. Our Second Saturday family included these performers and all of our faithful audience fans. Special thanks to Roderick Reid DuBois for his dedication to providing our sound, Brian Haught for designing our fabulous posters and Paul Phillips of Whitmore Music for extra financial contributions. You all helped Bill and myself create and carry on a wonderful tradition keeping music alive and well. Many thanks❤️

Thanks for everyone’s support this summer. It was a summer filled with great music. We’ll see you next Summer at the Amphitheater at Memorial Park !!! The new amphitheater will be just next door to the Gazebo.
The first show of our 17th season will be May 11th, 2019. Hope to see you there...

Legendary guitarist, Gary Hutchison, will be the featured performer for the August 11th concert of Second Saturday Music. Hutchison, is the recipient of numerous awards and special recognitions for his guitar playing and has been performing for over four decades as a solo act and with the band “Oreo Blue”. The concert begins at 7:30 and is held indoors at the Community Building, 110 N Mount Olive in Siloam Springs. The Second Saturday Series is made possible with sponsorship from the Siloam Springs Park and Recreation Department and private donations. For more information contact Bill Lisk at 479-220-2515.

We are so excited for “Mighty Fine Times” from Fayetteville, Arkansas to be our featured performers for the June 9th concert. Denise Lunati, Dennis Collins and Jennifer Parker will share their wonderful music with us in the comfort of the Community Building in downtown Siloam Springs (110 N Mt Olive Street). Update: We just found out that the City is beginning work on the new amphitheater next to the Gazebo. They will be fencing off that area for the new construction. For all the upcoming Second Saturday this summer, we will re-locate to the Community Building on Mt Olive Street where it will be cool and dry! Please share this info...Thanks!!!

“Fiddles in the Middle”, will be the featured performers for the first Second Saturday music concert of the 2018 season, May 12th. The group features traditional Irish music including vocals and instrumentals. Kathy Sutterfield, Richey McCusker, Bill and Deanna Lisk are the band members featuring fiddles, guitar, and accordion. For the June 9th concert, Fayetteville area musicians, “Mighty Fine Times” will perform a variety of folk, blues and original music. Frank Lee and Allie Burbrink from Bryson City, South Carolina will share their old time music on July 14th. Jed Marum and Hugh Morrison, also know as “Lonestart Stout” from the Dallas, Texas area return to the concert series performing their music blend of American, Scottish and Irish cultures.
Second Saturday Music is made possible with sponsorship from Siloam Springs Parks and Recreation and private donations. The free event begins at 7:30 in the Twin Springs park gazebo at the corner of E Twin Springs and Maxwell Street. Bring a lawn chair or blanket. In the event of inclement weather, the performance will move inside to the Community Building at 110 N Mt Olive Street in Siloam Springs. For more information contact Bill Lisk at 479-220-2515.
