This weekend’s big event at the venue was a 20th Anniversary Party! Congratulations!

What excites me about this one was the fun this family was having TOGETHER. At one point I drove up and they were playing football 🏈 on the lawn out front and the family was sitting all over the huge front porch. I looooove seeing people hang out at Whispering Pines like they are at home. ❤️ It’s meant to be a place that can be relaxed in where beautiful memories can be made.

Last week we kicked off our season with a Labor Day wedding on September 1st ☝️! I’m taking that as a sign we are going to have a busy year at the venue. This wedding was gorgeous. The momma originally told me, “We are going to have a simple wedding.” She threw together one of the most elaborate weddings we have had at Whispering Pines! It was gorgeous! I told her she needs to get into wedding coordinating. I few of us told her. Guess what? She is, so I’m tagging her, so y’all can connect with her April Hurley. It’s that time of year, again!!! The temperature has begun to take a turn and the weather is perfect for gatherings at Whispering Pines. Dates are filling up, so now is the time to start planning your event. In September we open our doors once again and start our venue season. We are starting September 1st with a beautiful holiday wedding this upcoming Labor Day weekend. I’m so excited about this upcoming season. Come on Fall! 🍂 🍁 -We will be hosting some homeschool teen events this season so watch for those.
-I love suggestions for events you would like to see happen.

There are two things I want to share with you all.
-First, now is a great time to get on my booking calendar for the venue. October is filling up. September through May is our “year” and it is fast approaching.
-Second, I’ve made a page for my non-venue rentals. If you are renting the venue, most of these things are included in your rental, so don’t worry. I’m not going to charge you for every item in adfition to your venue rental. This is for things I rent out separate from the venue. I want it to have a separate page because I think it causes confusion if I were to post photos of my balloon work, etc. which is often at other venues/locations. I will continue to expand rental item options, so please click on this other business page and LIKE that page.

Summertime brings a dramatic shift at Whispering Pines. We slow things down a bit because the weather can be very unpredictable and cruel with its brutal heat. We are not a climate controlled venue. Early mornings or really late nights are still rental options for those willing and understanding that unpredictability. This past werkend some sweet friends were facing the possibility of canceling their outdoor party at their home, so we moved the party to our venue. It was hot for setup, but it was decent temps during the party time since it was overcast and raining. I am honored to have had this party take place at my venue. And if you need party ideas, check out the photos because this was fabulously done. The talent and creativity that went into this party was top notch! 🤠 🐎

As for what we offer during these warm months, I can still offer well timed party rentals at the venue (events ending before noon; after 7:pm gatherings). If you need off-site rentals for tables, chairs, arches and more, I can arrange those. I’ve expanded to add balloon arrangements and setups like the one in this post.

Freshly mowed and a beautiful sunset. Views are of the surrounding area and we are right by the water spray park. I love the ferns that grow under the extensive porch. Try as I may the vines are determined to climb the full height of the building and elderberry plants grow wildly everywhere. Ironically, I can’t seem to force elderberry to grow at my home. These shots are just a glimpse at how I see my building. It’s a spectacular old thing!

Friday night, I met up at the venue with two separate clients for chair rentals. It’s exciting to be able to branch off into party rentals that are separate from the venue business, but work well alongside it.

It was a busy, busy weekend! We started off by opening the venue up bright and early Friday morning so the decorating could be done early for this beautiful ceremony on Saturday.
