I had to pause my octopus one and get to work on this hood.
I had originally started this one, but then ran out of black yarn. Ordered more, and as soon as it came in, I switched.
It's getting long and the bottom design has some new stitches, but super excited about how this one is turning out!
The cables/ropes on this are so awesome! Super proud of them!

It got late last night. Watching some TV! Here is my progression!!
It's so pretty! I'm too slow of a knitter for my own self on this one. I just wanna wear it already! 😅😍

My kids and I have been doing little water color paintings by andrea.nelson.art every Friday for a few weeks now.
If you haven't heard of her, check out her videos now! They are so fun and she is so sweet! Even if you've never painted, she helps make it seem accessible and easy!
Anywho, I've wanted to share our painting journey since we've started but my son felt it was to be a "between us" thing. So he asked me not to share it.
After today's, he saw in the comments of her video that others had shared their work and he decided he wanted to too!
So here is our artwork for today! I only have permission to share today's work, but maybe in the future he will want to share again!

If you have kids, or even if you don't, I highly recommend getting a watercolor book and giving it a shot. It is so freeing and fun. Whether you watch Andreas videos, someone else, or just having fun, it worth it!

It's not WHAT you paint, but how you feel while painting it. We felt amazing during and proud of ourselves after!

So I'm teaching myself how to do colorwork in knitting! It's a definite new skill, that turned out to be pretty fun to do!
Also, look at this cute heart pattern I found online! (I pulled random off Google images so I'm not sure where it's from exactly)
The actual piece I've made here was SUPPOSED to be a cute bag that I've seen made in other videos around. Unfortunately, I made it way too wide for me to even want to make it (the length is 3 times the width 😅)
Oh well, it was mostly to practice color work and I successfully did that! I'm not sure if I'll turn it into anything, keep it around as is, or just frog it and make something new with the yarn.

Sidenote, the back side of this looks wild. 😅

Gone over the deep end with yarn! 😅
Knit each of my kids a hat, according to their instructions. Also knit my niece one. Then one for myself to practice a new stitch.
I have plans to knit more things.

So now I'm on a knitting frenzy. Saw this lady's video about this particular pattern. Fell in love. Bought it. Now I need to knit them for my family 🤣 Anywho, I'm struggling to pick my colors.
She does hers with two different gradient yarns. (from thei top) Light yellow to dark orange and dark blue to light blue.

My absolute favorite color is seagreen, light green. Although I love all greens too. So I want color 17 or 03
But I also love the sunset, fire vibes from 15 and 09 (09 number got covered, sorry) and how they will contrast with my green colors.

BUT I CAN'T DECIDE WHAT GOES BEST WITH WHAT! What do you guys think? 😬

It's been a while since I've posted! I have gone a slight painting haitus as I race to finish a knitting project I started.
I had actually meant to keep yall following along with it, but I took the pictures and forgot to make the posts.. 😅 So here's one big post about a little journey I had with this scarf, and hat.

So I learned to knit about 6-7 years ago. I'm not sure how long the hobby lasted. Less than year, possibly. That's just how my ADHD brain really works. I pick up a hobby and learn it in a frenzy. then I either get bored of it, or I find a new hobby that's more exciting to learn. (pretty sure I sewed a quilt after my knitting journey 😅)

Anyway, it's been a while it's what I'm getting at. So when my dad asked if I could knit him up a scarf and hat set by Christmas. I remembered how I enjoyed knitting, and took on the project without hesitation! (this was roughly two weeks beforehand)

Of course, I had to re-learn a few things, but once I got back into it, it was nothing! I gained confidence and knitted my little heart out. I got excited and even figured out my on little pattern on my own, but here's where things started to fall apart.
I got over confident just a tiny bit and made mistake after mistake. The pattern I created just Had to be complicated. 🤦🏼‍♀️

I unraveled this thing to bare bones out of frustration SO MANY TIMES. Honestly, I was the fuzziness of the yarn made it hard to see stitches for me to correct mistakes. 🙃 On top of that complicated pattern of course.

I was stubborn and pushed through the pattern because I knew it would be pretty. And boy was I right! I absolutely love the way the scarf came out! 5ft of purple luscious beauty! So totally worth every bit of frustration! I definitely learned a lot from it, that's for sure!

If you've read this far, thanks! I am still knitting the hat! I did struggle a bit in the beginning, to get the size right with my yarn and figuring out the pattern. Now that it's all figured out, it'll be a breeze from here. Also, I know it's after Christmas, but thankfully, my dad is one of my number one supporters and is super understanding! 😊❤️ Should be done soon though! 😁

Probably my most proud of set I've ever knitting! What do you guys think? ❤️

Lately, I've been feeling a bit down, maybe even burnt out. I haven’t painted much at all since my last post. Life has been overwhelming, and I just can’t seem to get my footing to move forward with my art.

It’s frustrating—when I feel bad, I don’t paint. But I want to paint, and then I feel bad that I’m not. It’s a cycle I really need to break.

I’m hopeful that something will shift soon. In the meantime, here’s something fun: a face painting my daughter did! I have a special kit just for her, and she paints several times a week. She absolutely loves exploring all kinds of art, and I love encouraging that creativity.

If I can’t be creative right now, at least I can find joy in watching her grow her own artistic spark!

This little hobby started about a year ago. At first, she was just experimenting with colors, swiping them around into a beautiful mess. But now? She’s moved on to picking pictures she wants to replicate—it’s been incredible to see her progress.

Fingers crossed my creative bug comes back soon! 🙃

Here's some progression on that octopus! I've had somethings slow me down in the process! Hopefully I can work on it tonight and get you guys a new video tomorrow!

Still some details to put in butttt when you hate the background, you change it. I couldn't get things to work for me, but now I like the abstract look I'm going for now! Need to add some shadow to make the flamingo pop, and maybe gold? I don't know, I haven't decided 😁
