e co-ops to bring the freshest harvest of fruits and vegetables to our customers. We craft artisanal baked goods in our own kitchen, or source them from independent bakeries. We consult the Monterey Bay Aquarium Seafood Watch guidelines when finalizing ocean sourced dishes. We contract with farms where the livestock and poultry eat a species-appropriate diet and live in pastured environments.

Yes!!! Botteled water is wasteful. We’re lucky our tapwater is safe to drink in Montgomery County, Maryland
If you drink from plastic bottles we know that there are identifiable microscopic nano plastics. Further more if that bottle sits in the sun or gets shaken the plastic sheds into the water and into our body it goes
It ends up in the ocean or the landfill.

Green plate gets ready for set up at the Japanese Pavilion inside Brookside Gardens. Good thing we had a big urn of water. It was a hot day yesterday.

Congrats to this bride and groom for creating a ZERO waste wedding.
The funds for The venue supported
Monique Johnson Earth Conservation Corps Anacostia River Center
Check out founder Kit with the groom amongst the multi tissued flowers that his newlywed wife had created over the prior months to spruce up the place
China and glassware, cloth napkins and silverware all cut down on waste!
The bride collected champagne flutes over the year and supplied those as well as all the linens and napkins.
She also covered all the mismatched chairs to create a uniform look :)
A lot of thought, preparation and work went into the set up and decor which the bride and groom did with dedicated friends.
The couple hired Green Plate to prepare a mostly vegan meal so it could be enjoyed by all and support our planet!

Green Plate caters another zero waste event for the MoCo Energy Summit April 2024. Yes, everything was compostable and picked up at our kitchen by the Compost Crew. 270 attendees for two days = half a bag of garbage and one bag of recyclables. Urns for beverages.
Green Plate is proud to work with Montgomery County to show our community it can be done as a business practice :)
