In 2016, Floret Farms began breeding new zinnia varieties. While it has always been easy to find bright, bold zinnia colors (which are gorgeous!), they wanted to breed zinnias that were softer, more subtle, and more elegant for wedding design and other event work. Well, these beautiful varieties were finally available for widescale sale this past winter, and I snatched some of them up! I am thrilled to see Alpenglow and Golden Hour zinnias finally blooming in my very own garden! 😍

Please reach out if you would like to have some of these stunning zinnias on your very own dining table! (My garden is full of beautiful flower varieties to arrange with them!! ☺️)

I knew I loved making floral arrangements, but I’m starting to really love making bouquets too! 💗 The snapdragons, scabiosa, and bupleurum are all from our garden! Thanks to Holland Flower Farm for the colorful shades of yarrow to round out this bouquet!

When we arrived home from our 4th of July weekend, we were greeted by a garden patch blooming with stock and snapdragons!

The stock is a color called Champagne and is NEW to Johnny’s Seeds.

The snapdragons are called Chantilly Light Salmon and are also NEW to Johnny’s seeds.

I love being able to grow the newest, most inspiring flowers I can find, and I’m excited to put these flowers into bouquets for you to enjoy!

I plan to make $15-20 wrapped bouquets—reach out if you want to reserve one!

Here is a fun before and after for you! I love seeing the double tulips open up and display their lovely pink centers!

Spring has sprung early in NW Iowa, and the tulips are almost ready! With the warm temperatures coming this weekend, I predict we will begin picking tulips early next week.

So, it’s pre-order time!!! 🌷

I will be selling wrapped bouquets of one dozen specialty tulips for $22. The tulips will be clean, arranged, wrapped, and ready to go! I will also provide flower food and care instructions. All you need to do is provide a clean vase with water!

To secure your tulips, please message me! You may request a certain color or let me choose for you. When possible, I also hope to blend the colors together for a beautiful pastel mix. 😍

I accept payment of exact cash, check, or Venmo. You can pick up your tulips, or we can deliver in town for $5!

We started our first seeds this week! 🙌 I’d like to give a shout out to my amazing husband, Dane Hibma, who created the grow light set-up and expertly planted the first round of seeds!!

This year I again took inspiration from some breathtaking snapdragons! 💗🧡 The flowers in my garden this year will feature lots of dreamy pastel peach and pink hues—my favorite! I’m also trying out some new varieties, like the pansies and yarrow below. I can’t wait to see how they all turn out!

Isaac and I were SO excited this afternoon to see the tulips popping up already!!! What a crazy winter we are having! 🤯I usually plan on harvesting and selling my tulips around late April or early May, but I will certainly let you know if they are ready early! Maybe we’ll have tulips for Easter this year?! 🌷☀️✝️

Weekend update! (I wasn’t able to turn the camera around, so I had to take a whole new video for the flower footage! See my next post for the actual flowers! Technology is not my thing…)

Today’s flowers are simply heavenly! 💗 You might notice that they are a bit different than I expected for the week. But, I am learning you have to be flexible in the floral industry!
