Our “Frosty The Snowman” tree is complete at the Alliance!!
Our snowmen are from the theme used for the tree at the State Capital. The snowman recognize the Minnehahaha County casualties from WWl, WWll, Korea, Vietnam, and the War on Terrorism also the Past Post Commanders, Past Auxiliary Presidents and the name of veterans submitted by our auxiliary members.

I like to call her “Our Own” Athena Callahan … but she is the granddaughter of JM Bliss members Doug and Karen Callahan…
Athena has been selected to be the Junior Grand Marshall of the Downtown Parade of Lights tomorrow evening in Sioux Falls!!
Athena is very involved in many activities, she shines bright as a Girl Scout and has been actively involved in helping our Auxiliary.. she has made hundreds of cards for veterans. She steps up and has helped us prepare care packages for deployed soldiers. She has cleaned headstones for Veterans and assists in places flags on Memorial Day.
Congratulations Athena!! You are a shining star and a leader!!!

What a productive afternoon!!
With the help of the Girl Scouts, the 323 Family Readiness Group, Three Rivers VFW auxiliary and JMB VFW auxiliary… we were able to prepare 150 care packages that will be shipped to the 323 Chemical Unit on deployment.
These amazing people got 150 packages prepped and boxed in 35 minutes!! Everyone worked together … like clockwork!!!

A truly memorable day honoring our Veterans.
Another day educating students about the flag and flag ettiquette at Anne Sullivan elementary school. Sharing proper folding of the flag, proper respect and displaying the “Star Spangled Banner Flag”.
What is the Star Spangled Banner Flag you ask??? Look at the photos.. count the Stars and Stripes… have you ever seen a flag with 15 Stars and Stripes?? Take a moment a google it… a little known historical informational .fact

Words can not express the heartfelt gratitude received from the residents and family of Tiezen Memorial Home for the Veterans Day program we presented for them yesterday. Ten of the twelve veterans at the residence were able to attend, along with family and friends.
A huge Thank You to St Croix Hospice for inviting us to present a program for this amazing groups of Veterans. We had Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines AND Coast Guard represented!!
One awesome tidbit from the day, the local soloist had attended boot camp this summer, came back to finish her senior year and will go to AIT next summer… so we were able to blend the young with the experienced!!

We served over 200 people at a funeral lunch today for Post member Ron Hayes. Thank you to Diana Wells, Deacon Reisner, Deb Felton, Vickie Williams and Ellie May Healy for your hard work!!
On the way home from there, Diana and Deacon stopped at the Berakhah House to to deliver $616 worth of household appliances and cash for Make A Difference Day!!
We are now on the way to the aid the Guardians of the Children in their annual Trunk or Treat… we have treats, pencils, flags and pinwheels!!!
