Our next American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification and Re-Certification is taking place soon! AUGUST 8th - 13th

This course is for those who wish to become a certified lifeguard. Must be age 15 by course end date. Attendance at all classes is mandatory and classes will be held at the Butler YMCA

RE-CERTIFICATION COURSE
In-Person August 12th and August 13th. Online Learning for 6 hours MUST be completed prior to August 12th or you cannot attend the in-person portion.

Did you know... More than half of the youth in Reach & Rise® Youth Mentoring Program have had a mental health diagnosis of depression, anxiety, ADHD, autism or PTSD. Youth have come to learn how to communicate their needs, manage emotions, make friends, build healthy relationships, and try new things.

Although the youth at Reach & Rise® are different, they all have one thing in common: They have benefitted from the positive role models they met through this valuable program.

You can help today by becoming a mentor. Just like the youth in Reach & Rise®, our mentors are diverse in their abilities, backgrounds and interests. If you have a desire to make an impact on the lives of youth, we would love for you to join us!

The Butler Y is hosting an American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification Course August 8th-13th for those ages 15+. (Recertification is also available August 12th & 13th)

Why become a lifeguard? It's more than just guarding lives, it's also learning valuable skills to take into future endeavors:

🔴 First Aid, CPR and Water Rescue
🔴 Physical Fitness
🔴 Communication and Teamwork
🔴 Situational Awareness
🔴 Quick Thinking and Problem Solving

*All candidates must pass the swim test on day one of the course. 75% of the registration fee will be refunded if the student cannot pass the swim test.

You may have seen Amelia, Melissa & Lily completing their 20 volunteer hours at various YMCA events such as Healthy Kids Day, The Butler Road Race & Turkey Trot, Trunk or Treat and the ARMCO Park Car Cruise. This past Saturday, our Development Director was honored to present these three members of Girl Scout Troop 28843 with their Senior Community Service Bar at their Bridging Ceremony!

The Senior Community Service Bar is earned by making a difference in the community and practicing the values of the Girl Scout Law. It is also a way for girls to get involved with a cause they care about. Congratulations Amelia, Melissa & Lily on your hard work!

The Annual Butler Road Race, presented along with Independence Health System, is TOMORROW June 22nd with a start time of 9AM 🙌

Packet Pickup for registered runners is available the morning of the race.

If you have not yet registered, you can still bring cash or a check and sign up Saturday morning for the 5 Mile or 2k race.

Don't forget to hydrate! The forecast is calling for heat all week ☀️💧

🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️ We are in the home stretch...TOMORROW (June 15th) is the LAST day to Pre-Register for the Annual Butler Road Race, presented with Independence Health System.

The Butler Road Race is being held on Saturday, June 22nd at 9AM in downtown Butler. Choose from our 5 Mile or 2k (1.2 mile) races. Kids and teens 17 and under can register for either race with special pricing!

This race has been a community favorite for decades and is a great time for family fun! Share this post with everyone you know to come out to support a great cause 🙌

Registration is also available at Diamond Park in Butler the day of the race, cash or check only 💲

Pre-registration ends on June 15th with race day on Saturday, June 22nd. Day of registration will also be available.

The 5 mile and 2k (1.2 mile) races are both fan favorites! Starting at Diamond Park on Main Street in Butler, athletes of all ages and abilities will have fun and get a great workout to help an even better cause (all proceeds go to our Annual Support Campaign).
