The 2024 Cooper's Lake Championship is officially in the books! We had fabulous weather for the final golf tournament of the year. Xander Downing of Butler, PA, fired a 5-over par 76 on the challenging Lake Course to win the Championship in his first start. Jon Rogerson finished runner-up for the second straight year with an 80. Bob Ellenberger finished in 3rd place with an 81. Sam Bevington, did not play, but thanks to a win and a runner-up finish earlier in the year, he will secure Player of the Year honors. Thanks again to everyone who came to golf and support the event! Full results below:

The golf course is in fabulous shape ahead of tomorrow's Cooper's Lake Championship! We will be starting around 12 pm tomorrow. If there is a playoff, it will be held immediately after the last group finishes. Player of the Year honors will be announced following the tournament. Here are the scenarios for Player of the Year:

-Xavier Farmer will win POY with a win
-Sam Bevington will win POY as long as Xavier Farmer and Bob Ellenberger both finish T-2 or worse
-Bob Ellenberger will win POY with a win and a T-4 or worse from Sam Bevington

Cooper's Lake Championship is this weekend. Sunday 12 PM. If you absolutely can't golf Sunday, you may golf Saturday afternoon.

It was a fabulous day on the Lake Course for the 3rd playing of the Cider Cup! Team Swisher (Blue), captained by Brian Swisher, defeated Team Homa (Red), captained by Vic Homa, by a score of 8 1/2 to 6 1/2! Both teams split the morning Four Ball session 2-2, before Team Homa took a 4 1/2 to 3 1/2 lead after winning the Alternate Shot session. Team Swisher edged out Team Homa in a hotly contested Singles session that came down to the final two matches. Congratulations to Team Swisher and thank you to everyone who came out to support the event!

We are 4 days away from the Cider Cup! Plan for a 10 AM start on Saturday. The teams will be selected upon everyone's arrival. Bring a red shirt and a blue shirt. We will start with team fourball, followed by team alternate shot, and finish with singles matches. There will be pizza, beer and snacks. Please let Jeff know if you are coming so we can make sure we have an even number of golfers.

Here are the rules for next weekend's Cider Cup:

We will have a draft to determine the teams (Bring a Red shirt and a Blue shirt)

9-holes of 2 vs 2 fourball matches (everyone plays their own ball)
9-holes of 2 vs 2 alternate shot matches (teammates play one ball and alternate)
9-holes of 1 vs 1 singles matches

Team Homa (Red Team) is the host team and will pick the order of sessions and matches. Team Swisher (Blue Team) will receive the first overall pick in the draft and will have tee box honors.

The Lake Course is now open for play! It will host next Saturday's Cider Cup (Sept 28th) and next month's Cooper's Lake Championship. If you are interested in golfing before next weekend, please get in touch with Jeff.

The 2024 Cider Cup will be played on Saturday, September 28th, three weeks from today! It will be a team matchplay competition consisting of 9-holes of fourball matches, 9-holes of alternate shot matches and 9-holes of singles matches. Vic Homa and Brian Swisher have been named the team captains. Ralph Nardulli and Tom Metcalf will serve as alternate captains. Teams will be selected the day of, so please bring a red shirt and a blue shirt. There will be plenty of pizza, beer and good times. The starting time will be determined closer to the event, once we know who all is coming. If you would like to golf with us, please get in touch with Jeff ASAP.
