**ANNOUNCEMENT**
The Freebird Festival is ON for today, and I’m SO EXCITED to attend with my family!!

HOWEVER given the weather conditions, I will no longer be offering free face painting at this event. Don’t worry, though - THERE WILL STILL BE BEAUTIFUL, PROFESSIONAL FACE PAINTING!!

My dear friend Marie's Imaginative Face & Body Art is a vendor at this event, and was originally going to be offering paid face painting after 12:30. She will now be vending all day. In support of her and of all the amazing vendors braving the weather to keep this event magical, I asking that everyone please come out to see Marie and all of our wonderful local artists & artisans! ❤️❤️❤️

The amazing people behind this festival and the incredible vendors and performers out there doing their thing in the drizzle today are half the magic - you guys are the other!

Now go out there and SHINE ON! ❤️❤️❤️🌈🖌️✨

Good news for my market families! I've mentioned that I won't be at the St. James Market this Saturday - but I can now confirm that my dear painty pal Marie's Imaginative Face & Body Art will be painting in my place! Marie will be there painting happy faces from 10:30-11:30am, and she is an absolute delight. Stop on down to say hello, and give Miss Marie a big old hug or a high five from her pal the Rainbow Lady! 🥰

Here's the list of remaining June public appearances for Flying Colors Face & Body Art and my friends! Face painting at these events has been sponsored by the event organizers and will be free to the public - so come on down and say hi!

TONIGHT, June 26th, I'll be painting alongside the incomparable Face & Body Art by Tara Rose down at St. James Elementary for this year's first St James Summer Nights! Face painting will be available from 5:30-8:30pm.

THIS SATURDAY June 29th, from 11am-2pm, you can find me at the Massapequa Public Library in Bar Harbor for the Children's Summer Reading Kickoff celebration, where I'll be painting alongside the super-sparkly Joanie Baloney Pro Face Painting! ALSO THIS SATURDAY, June 29th, you can find me in the afternoon over at Setauket Sweet Summer Market, painting happy faces free to the public from 3-5pm.

and finally, this SUNDAY, June 30th, I'll be painting free to the public from 10am-12:30pm at the Smithtown Historical Society Grounds for the first-ever Freebird Festival! I'll be over by the rest of the children's entertainment, painting all those adorable faces - and for adults looking to become walking works of art, my dear friend Face & Body Art by Tara Rose will be doing body painting on the other side of the festival! If you miss the free painting, don't worry - ANOTHER wonderful friend of mine, Marie's Imaginative Face & Body Art will be vending all day! You can pop by her table to purchase bling and bubble braids while I'm there, and face painting will be available for purchase at her booth after I leave.

Just a heads up for all my wonderful St. James Market families, Flying Colors will NOT be making any market appearances this Saturday - and believe me, no one is more disappointed about it than I! But the market is gonna be HOPPING and I'd love to live vicariously through all of you! You'll see lots of your old favorite vendors on the list for tomorrow, and some exciting new ones joining the roster too. My mouth is watering just reading about it! Our buddies at the kids corner will be back this week with free balloon twisting and activities for the littles, too. You can check out individual vendor spotlights over at the market FB page (linked above), and give them a follow for updates! So please, go support my friends and their amazing local businesses, and post your pictures for me because I am SO BUMMED to be missing it!

I'll be back at the market on the 22nd, and almost every Saturday for the rest of the season. Can't wait to see everyone and hear about all the fun you had while I was away!

My favorite smile of the day! I met this young man at Setauket’s Sweet Summer Market this afternoon. He was looking at my board and I overheard his mom telling him that no, she probably can’t do the thing you’re REALLY into - so of course I turned with a grin and said “try me.”

I was expecting some obscure Pokémon or video game character or comic book or an anime or tv show. But nope!

The thing this guy loves - and I mean LOVES, more than anything, and has encyclopedic knowledge of, and lights up like an absolute supernova for….

Is the Beatles.

So, of course, we did the yellow submarine.

My message to everyone today is to be like this kid. Find the thing that makes you shine as bright as this darling human shines for the Beatles. Find it, love it, and share it every chance you get.

The world is a brighter place because you’re shining your light. ❤️❤️❤️

I can’t express enough my gratitude to the St James Civic Association for allowing Flying Colors to be part of the AMAZING community vibe at the St. James Market and St. James Summer Nights. The absolute best part of this job is the regulars - the families that I get to see every summer, week after week, the kids whose childhoods I get to be a part of.

This young lady is my little tiger collector - you’ve probably seen one of her many feline incarnations on my signs and menu boards! Last night’s Summer Nights was the first time I got to see and create with her this season - hopefully the first of many! 💖

My absolute favorite thing about painting at the and is that I truly get to know my little loves and their families! This beauty is one of my farmer’s market buddies. She calls me “the rainbow lady” (I WANT TO CHANGE MY BUSINESS NAME TO THAT NOW OMGGG) and she is my favorite little tiger collector. Every time she gets a different color and we have so much fun creating together! Last night we went for with this beautiful pastel .
