Happy Halloween from the Rudy family!!! This year we channeled our inner mermaid/disney’s zombie family!

This was the first year for Bee to actually Trick or Treat and she was in heaven! She loved every spooky house (the spookier the better) and walked almost the entire time!

I did an outfit change earlier because this afternoon I helped in Bug’s class for his Halloween party as Harry Potter. I think the kids really just loved that Hedwig moved and made noise.

Hey there, fellow adventurers! I’m so excited to have you join us on our journey through life, laughter, and lens clicks. Meet the Rudy crew – Jake, me, and our dynamic duo, Jameson and Betty.

Our story began in Williamsburg, VA, where Jake and I first met in the 6th grade. Fast forward to college days at Elon University, and our love story blossomed against the backdrop of late-night study sessions and campus shenanigans. Post college we went home while Jake chased his master’s degree, followed by the beginning of our Marine Corps life.

In between all the moves and adventures, we’ve carved out our own little traditions – like Friday movie nights and cheering each other on in all our endeavors. But perhaps our greatest adventure yet has been embracing the wild ride of parenthood.

Jamey, our seven-year-old ball of energy, and Betty, our two-year-old firecracker, bring so much joy and laughter into our lives. They’re the stars of our show, and every day with them is a new chapter of fun and discovery.

As a mom and a photographer, I’ve learned a thing or two about the importance of capturing these fleeting moments. Family photoshoots can be chaotic, but they’re also a chance to freeze-frame the love, laughter, and connection that define us.

That’s why I’m on a mission to make every session as stress-free and enjoyable as possible. Whether I’m coaxing out genuine smiles, capturing candid moments, or simply ensuring everyone feels comfortable and relaxed, I pour my heart and soul into each click of the shutter.

And here’s a little secret I’ve learned along the way – it’s not just about getting the perfect shot; it’s about making sure mom is in the frame too. Because years from now, when we look back on these images, it’s those moments of togetherness that will truly warm our hearts.

This girl is obsessed with two things…. Minnie Mouse and all things basketball. I don’t know another 2 year old who will have the attention span to sit and watch basketball for 30 mins straight but here we are. I knew we needed to combine them for her “ 🏀H TWO-dles” themed birthday! When we went to Disney over Spring Break I even took her ball to have Minnie and Mickey autograph it!

Unfortunately she was sick for her actual birthday last week so we had to push the celebration and pictures to this week! While Jamey was at baseball practice, we headed to the basketball court at the same park here in Sneads Ferry. She was more concerned about watching a family play than getting her picture taken but I bribed her with M&Ms and got a couple of good pics to celebrate!

I can FINALLY share these with yall!!!! I’ve been holding them close trying hard to keep the secret but it’s out and I’m SOOOO excited!!!!! My dear friend who is also owner of and her family wanted to do a family shoot to not only celebrate Rhett’s birthday but to also celebrate the fact that she is pregnant with a BOY!!!!

I could not be happier for them and I can’t wait to snuggle that boy come spring!!!

I am sooo excited to celebrate this sweet boy’s upcoming first birthday!!!!

One of the best best things about being a photographer is having a family welcome you into their lives and bring you along for the journey. Not only did I photograph Danielle and Chad’s maternity session but I also got to do their lifestyle newborn session!!!

Then, when Danielle reached out wanting me to capture Ryan’s first birthday cake smash, I cleared my schedule and jumped at the chance!!!

A little Monday FunDay senior session!!!

When you live in Wisconsin and vacation in North Carolina it only makes sense to do your Senior pictures at the beach!!!

It was amazing to hang out with Alexis and her amazing mom Melissa! Alexis has big dreams of studying Marine Biology so of course the beach was the perfect place to meet up! It was hot, HUMID, and ridiculously windy but she rocked it while giving me major model vibes!

Let’s all celebrate her and give her a piece of advice as she heads into her senior year!

Ok y’all…. This session was BEAUTIFUL!!!!! Lillian picked out the most amazing dress and absolutely rocked her session the other night!!!

You know who else rocked during this session? Her mom, Alexis!!! She was the BEST dress thrower!!! Seriously she was amazing and not scared to get a little wet.

We’re finally back from vacation and had the best time!!!!

We went on an amazing Disney family vacation with my parents and brother. It was definitely one to remember. We did a couple of days at Disney World (complete with LOTS of rain) and then a Disney cruise on their new Wish!

We miss the food, Castaway Cay, and all of the Disney magic already!!!

Finally, summer beach sessions are here!!!!

I had the BEST time with the Snyder family!!! These boys were so much fun to work with and so creative picking their end of session pictures (I’ll post in stories tonight).

Fun fact: when I shoot family sessions with kids, at the end I let them pick any picture they want to take. Yes! That means I help them become the photographer. It’s a great way to keep them engaged throughout the session and also fun to see the world at their perspective. Even their 1.5year old took a picture!

This morning I got to explore a new part of NC!!! It was my first time visiting Rocky Mount and oh my gosh it was so peaceful and beautiful!

I met Sarah and her family at Old Homestead Farm for the twin’s 1st birthday cake smash! It’s where they got married so of course we also had to get some pictures of just her and her husband!

I can’t wait to go back and explore again! If you’ve been to Rocky Mount before, where else do I need to visit?

Our #4thofjuly plans changed today but it was absolutely worth it because we cooked out and enjoyed the best neighborhood fireworks show with amazing neighbors!!!

Jake has always wanted a stripped down jeep to be able to cruise around in and go to the beach. So, for Father’s Day the kids and I gave him a toy jeep and a note saying I rented him one for a date day. We got a two door red jeep for the day with no top and no doors from Blockade Runners Jeep Rentals for the day and it was PERFECT!!! It came with a pass for the drive on beach! Honestly it was the best date day we have had in FOREVER!!!

This morning was pure magic capturing the Martin Family’s sunrise session! From Bennett’s newborn cuddles to Bryce’s surprise for Hailee’s birthday/their anniversary, every moment spent with this amazing family is filled with joy! Watching the boys grow has been incredible. I couldn’t end the night without celebrating one of my best friends to say happy birthday!!! Leah is one of the most supportive people I know. She’s kind, smart, funny, incredibly talented, and the best kind of sassy (even when she only gives me side hugs). She runs @topsailtalk and cares deeply for our community. It only fits that we met and became fast friends at a neighborhood food truck where our boys bonded immediately. I love you forever!!!!

A special shout out to my amazing husband for my Mother’s Day Eve spa day!!! I spent a few hours at @bluewater.wellness and got a 60 minute massage, 30 minute soothing soles, 60 minute facial, and 30 minute head massage! Brenda did my massage and feet!!! She was AMAZING!!!! For the first time in a long time I finally feel my muscles, hips, and neck relax. Alyssa did my facial and head massage! I may or may not have fallen asleep during the head massage 🤣 Side note: she’s also amazing at brows and lashes!!!

Happy 2nd Birthday to our spunky girl!!! She’s obsessed with all things Moana, Mickey/Minnie, and basketball! She’s adventurous, stubborn, goofy, and independent. I just hope none of that changes and she continues to grow into a strong woman one day!!! We love you sweet Bee!!!

Phew after having the stomach flu for the past couple of days I finally feel functional again!!! This time last week I was up in Richmond visiting one of my best friends. Do you have someone that is the ying to your yang? That’s what Jenny is! She quiets my loud, she is the smartest person I know, and she’s the outdoorsy do it yourselfer that I wish I could be. We don’t get to see each other as much as we would like but I’m so happy I got to go up and spend her birthday with her!!!! We love you Aunt ChiChi!!!! I can’t wait to take you to Disney with us sometime!!!

Saturday Shenanigans! Started the day early cheering on Jamey at his basketball game in Richlands at 8 am – talk about a slam dunk start! Next stop, Jacksonville Mall for a stroll at Barnes and Nobles, Photo Booth fun, and games! Then, met up with friends for an epic arcade and laser tag adventure. Sushi fix at our fav, Sake, followed by a picturesque park visit with surprise ice cream truck vibes!
