We have a big announcement from Grant! This is really cool.
First off I want everyone to know that Snohomish Running Company is not going anywhere. We are going to continue to bring you the best running events in the Northwest and I will continue to showcase and share my passion and love for running with you through Snohomish Running Company events. I'm blessed to be surrounded by a team which will allow me to follow other ventures in my life.
It turns out that running and cycling are not my only passion in life. As most of you know I'm also deeply passionate about my family and my spiritual life. Along with my family, running and cycling I also love real estate. Many don't know but I spent 13 years as a top producing mortgage originator and sales manager from 1999 to 2012. It was in 2012 I dropped everything to follow my passion for triathlon, running and cycling. It was in that year in which Snohomish Running Company was founded with our first event, The Snohomish River Run. However, my love for real estate and helping families, individuals and businesses find new homes has never fully left me. And now after 11 years of promoting and managing over 100 different events I'm going to devote a portion of my time back to the real estate world. I'm proud to announce that I am now a licensed real estate broker with Windermere Real Estate Snohomish!
As a 3 time Ironman Triathlon Finisher, 5 time Half Ironman Finisher and 6 time Marathon Finisher to go along with the promotion and management of over 100 running events in Snohomish, King and Whatcom County I'm uniquely qualified and connected to help both individuals and businesses find homes which fit their ideal quality of life. And being the owner and founder of Snohomish Running Company I can provide unique marketing opportunities to help sell your home.
Please take a moment and fill out my survey and make sure to follow me on my new Instagram page! I will randomly choose 2 people from those who fill out the survey

Introducing Alex the Acid Ball
Before introducing Alex, we want you to be acquainted with the SRC Event Lead for this year's Bellingham Bay Marathon: Courtney Olsen. Courtney is a professional runner for Hoka One, a long time Bellingham resident, and Western Washington University graduate. She is also a past champion and course record holder for the Bellingham Bay Marathon. When tasked with a defining a theme for this year's event, Courtney wanted it to be something that symbolized the strength and spirit of Bellingham, while also was a metaphor for her personality. Courtney introduced us to Alex the Acid Ball. Alex is both a beautiful work of art and a symbol of the industrious and hard working heritage of the City of Bellingham. He will also be there to cheer you on and give you strength as you pass by during the later miles of the race.
ACID BALL HISTORY
Operating from 1926-2007, Georgia Pacific--a pulp and tissue mill--located on the south side of Whatcom Waterway, was a major employer for those who lived in Bellingham, WA. Environmental investigations of the site showed contamination in a few areas, and as a result, the port and Ecology agreed to cleanup and redevelop. The cleanup was completed in 2016. Now, we only have Alex left to help symbolize the hard working people employed by Georgia Pacific for all those years.
"The Acid Accumulator from the defunct Georgia Pacific Mill on Bellingham's waterfront has been transformed into a new art installation placed in the new city park along Whatcom Waterway. The Acid Ball is a powerfully authentic artifact that connects us to Bellingham's mighty industrial past. There is a beauty in it's inherent form that we celebrating and transmuting into a beacon marking the past and drawing a line
