Gazpacho Season

Salt would like to take a moment to highlight someone who was very important in our community & our lives! At the beginning of November we said that we would be taking donations for the Daily Bread Food Truck until the end of the month. Well in life things happen & plans change, so we will be extending our donation collection until New Year’s Day. Now here is a little back story on why… Well over the last 8+ years that Salt has been open, we have met hundreds of people. Being a small business our customers become more than just “regular customers” and start to become our dearest friends & even family. Well one of our day one customers “Anne Joyce” has become like a family member to us. Over the years we have catered and served in her home numerous times for dinners, holiday parties, and even her daughter’s wedding. We were there to serve her guests but in return she was there catering to us, making us feel comfortable & welcome, also making sure we were enjoying ourselves equally as much as her guests. Anne was involved in helping so many people without ever seeking acknowledgment! She was a woman with a big heart, kind smile, & warm presence. We worked with her as a silent partner providing hundreds of meals for our community by way of the Daily Bread food truck in St John's Parish. Yes, she was the reason that we got started with the Daily Bread & will be the reason that we continue on with them. All of our donations from now & in the future will always be donated in her name as a way to continue on her generosity & legacy. There are so many wonderful things that we could say about Mrs. Anne Joyce that would probably make this post go on for days & days. She was just a great woman with an even bigger heart. She did not seek applause or recognition from man. She was truly a servant down here & I’m sure when she got to heaven she received “A job well done, thy good & faithful servant” -Matthew 25:23 I’ll leave this post with a fun fa
