We are quickly approaching October 2, the 350th anniversary of the groundbreaking of the Castillo de San Marcos and with the help of the St. Augustine Historical Society and Historic Florida Militia, Inc., there are a few events planned around the celebration

On Saturday, October 1, the Historic Florida Militia will host a 1672-themed Historic Street Saunter starting at 5:30 p.m. at Aviles Street and making its way to the City Gate and then to the grounds of Castillo de San Marcos for a short ceremony.

On Sunday, October 2, programs, historic demonstrations, living history, and cannon and musket firing demonstrations will take place throughout the day with a focus on the 350 years of history represented by the Castillo.
