What a year! We're full of gratitude for all the contra dancing, music, and feasting in Somerset this year. We even added a semi-monthly Friday dance series: Contra on Campus (at the Somerset Community College Campus) and had a mini dance weekend. Accolades to all those who continue make the magic happen:

Due to a scheduling snafu, Callie Allison will not be calling for the 5th Saturday Contra this month, HOWEVER, we are ecstatic to have the awesome GREER HANNAN from Louisville, KY! She is a rising caller with plenty of guts and grace! 🤩

So far, it’s been an amazing year for contra dancing in Somerset, thank you so much to everyone who has danced, called, volunteered, played music, facilitated, watched, or participated in any way 💝

We have one more dance in Somerset this year!
We would love for YOU to Join us on November 30,
At the farmers market in downtown Somerset.
No experience or partner necessary. There will be a lesson at 7 and dancing will begin at 7:30.
Callie Allison will be calling and Mixed Nuts will be playing.

It’s an entire weekend of amazing music and lots of contra dancing!

We’re so excited for all the contra dancing November has in store for us💃🏻💃🏼

We would be remiss if we didn’t take a moment to call out big love to one of our favorite dance partners and callers from the St. Louis contra family. Bob Green, was a treat to dance with. He progressed onto the heavenly dance floor last night and heaven just gained an excellent dancer. Sometimes it’s hard to know what to do when someone passes. This time we have an idea of what Bob would have wanted us do to…
keep dancing, let people know when dances are happening, welcome new dancers to the floor, and enjoy every moment. So, this post is for you Bob, thank you for the dances.
