Fiddlers Green Contra Dance

Fiddlers Green Contra Dance Fiddlers Green Contra Dance This is a dance for newcomers learning to contra dance, folks who’ve been dancing for decades, and everybody in between.

Suggested ages 10 and up. No partner or experience needed. This 4th Sat series starts at 7:30pm with top-notch callers providing friendly, clear instruction to help newcomers get oriented. The dancing progresses to include a variety of figures to create a fun evening for all levels of dancers! We end at 10:00 with a final waltz. Great live music keeps everybody moving. Sit-ins are welcome to join

the band. Potluck snacks at the break. Admission $10 (reduced income: $5 - $10, sliding scale) or $25 per family

The Fiddlers Green Contra Dance welcomes musicians of all experience levels to sit in with our hired musicians. At each dance sit-ins and listeners are welcome to take a seat at the back of the stage. You are welcome to switch between dancing, listening, or playing as you will. We tend to play accessible tunes during the first half and more challenging tunes after the break.

Want to practice ahead of time? We promise we play will these tunes at our next dance:

We're on our summer break, so remember we won't be dancing this Saturday. There will be no Fiddlers Green dance in June, July, or August, but we look forward to dancing with you in September!
