It was an incredible experience connecting with talented wedding professionals from across the state. We spent time reflecting on 2024, learning from one another, and looking ahead to all that 2025 has in store.

There is something incredibly special about watching a best friend marry the love of their life. From our early high school days together - through living together in college, Meg and I have been through it all together. I had a front row view of witnessing her first get a sparkle in her eye talking about this “Dustin from class” to then them moving in together, welcoming their sweet Oshie, and now their beautiful wedding day.

This was a day Megan had been dreaming about for years—and I know that because we’ve spent so much time talking about it. We even tried on our dream engagement rings on together back in 2019 (the ring she has on her finger now!) She imagined every detail, from perfect weather to the ultimate dance floor, but most importantly, a day that celebrated their love & was full of fun. That’s exactly what this day turned out to be.

It was such an honor not only to stand by her side but also to design a complete *floral surprise* for her wedding day.

Yes, you read that right—Megan didn’t want to know a single detail about the florals until she walked into her wedding. She gave me no color specifications (*other than no Christmas vibes*), no designs—just total creative freedom to craft something that truly reflected her. That trust was the greatest gift, and bringing this vision to life was such a joy.

You usually see Oakley in my stories, giving the biggest puppy dog eyes as we load up the van for weddings - she’s just waiting for the day that she gets to come along!

A late summer wedding full of flowers and foliage from Maine Flower Collective.

As a floral designer hours are spent on sourcing the best flowers and foliage for your wedding. From local farms to collectives, local wholesalers and national wholesalers. The options are endless - but this also means a lot of time sourcing from what will be best for your specific vision. Often times from multiple sources for just one wedding.

For this specific wedding it was an emphasis on product from Maine & to achieve that we worked with - with their help we were able to source product from close to 10 farms in Maine.

[SOURCING FLOWERS] - over the coming months I’ll be “pulling back the curtain” on what goes into your floral designs before they come to life on your special day. Today - we tackle sourcing!
