The White House, as it is affectionately known around town, is an iconic property located just northeast of the Stateline casino corridor, across the highway from Edgewood’s golf course. Friday’s Station, its official name, was a nod to Friday Burke, one of the original builders of the home which was constructed in 1858. Friday’s Station was only two years old when it became an important home station for the Pony Express riders carrying mail in 1860. Then, in 1890, David Brooks Park, a cattle rancher with a family business, acquired the property as well as several hundred adjacent acres of prime land for his cows to graze on. Today, those adjacent acres house the Stateline casinos and Edgewood Tahoe Resort. Friday’s Station is the only fully intact original Pony Express Station that still exists in Nevada and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
So you can imagine my excitement when my clients asked me to help them plan their Welcome Party at this legendary estate. A close friend of the couple, is also a Park Family member, and was able to grant access to the exclusive location for their welcome event.
It was an absolute dream come true to be able to work at this venue. The beauty and privacy of the setting, the classic charm of the home, and the historical elements of this spot make it a truly magical place to hold any special celebration. I will always cherish having the opportunity to work at the iconic Edgewood White House.
