How is it that I did absolutely nothing when I got home from work last night but somehow I feel like I did so much? One word. Burn out.

Burn out is real and scary.
Forcing time for yourself is so important.
If you don’t, your body will do it for you and you might find yourself sick or something happening to you that forces you to sit down to relax and take some time for yourself.

Yesterday was the first night I was able to relax at home all week. To be honest with you I wasn’t really able to, but I forced myself to just relax. It feels weird. Like you’re cheating yourself out of achieving what you need to get done but taking that moment for yourself is so important especially when your task list is never ending.

If you find yourself in a situation like this, or if you were experiencing burn out. Take an evening for yourself and do something that makes you happy. Whether that be reading, taking a bath, drawing, writing, anything that truly lights you up or makes you feel relaxed. For me that was just sitting on the couch, putting my phone down and watching TV all night til bed lol

In honor of our anniversary I wanted to post this creative picture I made.

We loved the picture so much, we actually turned it into our wedding invitation! - which yes, of course I created that too! Scroll to next slide to see - We had a Game of Thrones themed wedding complete with a foam sword fighting pit, great music, and more! Our wedding was a dream come true, and a big preparation. We were engaged for two years before saying “I do” to ensure we had enough time to save and plan everything the way that we wanted. Here is a little sneak peek of what our wedding looked like.

Today I am so happy to spend the day with the love of my life. We have some fun adventures planned and I can’t wait!

Today marks our four year wedding anniversary, but it also marks 11 years of being together. I’m so lucky to be able to have grown along side my man for so long. Here’s to another 11 years of good times and learning/growing through the difficult times. There’s no one else I would want to experience this life with. My best friend, my lover and soulmate.

We dived into visually showing her evolved spirit. Not only in simple creative portraiture (which there is so much beauty in those photos) but by going into photoshop to bring the impossible to life.

Always remember you are worthy of living your dream life. Don’t be afraid of failure. It is within failure, mistakes and taking risks that we truly learn.

The meaning of this photo has changed over time.. when I first created it I had no inspiration - and used that as inspiration.

I just let it be created before my eyes..

Hunched over in a storm, having all these thoughts and ideas, but unsure of what direction to take.

Life can be a big guessing game and
sometimes is not all sunshine and rainbows. Sometimes the storms come regardless and it’s hard to make it through to the next day.

That’s what this image represents to me now. It represents spiritual growth. When the world feels like it’s crashing around me, I try to keep the light in my heart. Knowing that it will all be over soon. While I am waiting for the storm to pass, I try and think of the lessons that it is trying to teach me.

At the end of every storm comes a rainbow. 🌈

Taking it back to 2019 for this Tuesday morning post.

I’m not sure if I can take it anymore.
Everything hurts. I feel like I’m cracking inside.

So much love, but so much pain. I don’t know which way to go or which way to turn.
Perhaps I’m not supposed to go anywhere at all.. and perhaps, maybe I was supposed to come to this realization.

Consuming the problems around me.. hiding behind my human mask.. this is not me. I feel like I’m so much more, but yet, so less.

Four years later and I’m still here. Taking that next uncertain step, not 100% sure where it will lead, but 100% sure everything will unfold the way it needs to. I’ve learned that life is our greatest teacher, and when things go wrong, it is never the end of the story. There is always something to learn, a realization to be had, or an opportunity to unfold.

Creating this image was one of the hardest things that I had done so far. I knew I wanted to create a galaxy coming out of her chest. It was included in my clients mood board and on the day of the shoot we even took the stock photos that we would need for it.

When it came time to creating. I first started doing all of my basic techniques for blending and compositing. It wasn’t working.

I even tried to get the AI tool to help me. Long story short, it did not. Lol.
The results that came up to try and help me with were hilarious, and not what I was looking for.

“OK..” I thought ..
I gotta try something different.

I let myself go.
I took a breathe, relaxed and I allowed myself to experiment and fail if need be, as I tried different techniques that would allow me to bring my unique and creative vision to life.

Failures are just successes waiting to happen.

Don’t forget, the day you plant the seed is not when you eat the fruit. Allow some time and life will show you what lies beyond what you even thought possible.

Earlier this year in February, I took some self portraits for my birthday turning the big 3.0

Other than editing them in Lightroom I never really got a chance to dive deep into Photoshop with them. Hopefully I will be able to at some point, but, until then I wanted to share what I captured, because I think they are still beautiful 💜✨

Over my 30 years of living. I wanna share 5 life lessons that I have picked up along the way.

✨ You will always be your oldest friend. Take care of you and don’t be so hard on yourself.

✨ Slow progress is better than no progress.

✨ Letting people be wrong about you or a situation while keeping your peace is a huge game changer. People are going to talk about you, no matter what you do. So you might as well do what brings you joy and live your best life. 💜

✨ When you practice being thankful for the little things as well as the big things, you attract more things to be thankful for.

✨ You deserve to be loved without having to hide the parts of yourself that you think are unlovable.

✨ Bonus:
Everything will be ok. No matter what awful curveball(s) life throws at us. The pain/suffering we feel is only temporary. In time, everything heals.

It will be ok.

You will be ok. 💜✨

I remember seeing an image earlier this year of a woman transitioning into a waterfall. I thought it was so beautiful and powerful. So I decided to do my own spin on it for my client!

The concept of our theme together was: spiritual zodiac queen. (With a lil whimsical book tribute for her love of reading. 🥰)
But yeah, so I thought that waterfall idea just meshed so well with the concept, so I decided to take my own crack at it.

I absolutely love how it turned out! It’s definitely giving off powerful, independent, and magical energy ✨ My favorite part of this piece is probably the metallic rainbow sky. 🌈💙✨ It’s a representation of the energies around us and how we constantly manipulate them whether we realize it or not. But when we do, it’s the most beautiful thing to witness. ✨

Hey!

I know there are some new faces, but if you've been following me for a while, you've noticed I've been MIA for most of 2023.

There’s a quote I came across in '22;
“You can’t pour from an empty cup”.
I didn’t realize how true that was until I was physically experiencing it.

May of 2022, I started feeling burnt out. Not creatively, but more physically/mentally. I didn’t want to stop shooting tho, so I pushed through. Right up until I crashed in the Fall/Winter.

I kept my books open for clients but, stopped doing TFPs. I started focusing on myself.

I never saw myself as a priority to take care of, but damn, we are probably the most important thing TO take care of. Otherwise, we will start to decline. Including our health.

In Jan, I stumbled upon free class on how to NOT counter manifest.

She did a deep dive on the topic, but in short.. I learned our subconscious brain can sometimes counter manifest our desires, without us realizing it.

Preventing us from getting what we want. I have more on this topic, but for now; Live life with an open heart and don’t be afraid to ask the universe, god, etc. for what you want/need.

Say; “I want … to experience, a fuller and more expansive version of me, but I love and am grateful for the version of me now.”

This class unexpectedly brought me back onto my spiritual path. It helped me realize where I was in life, and where I wanted to go. Recognizing my love as agape; we are all powerful beings that deserve to create and be happy.

It was so cold while we were shooting but, I swear I have the best clients! Valerie was a champ! You couldn’t even tell it was cold. We flowed into specific poses to allow the Photoshop stuff to be done in post processing. We probably shot for no more than 30 minutes. When I say it was cold, it was cold!!! Lol

But dang, magic was made.

Friendly reminder to take some time today to reconnect with yourself, your vision, your loved ones, and your purpose. These days, it seems everyone wants to embrace the “hustle” mindset. But you want to know what will really help you succeed? Learning to slow down. Giving time to yourself. Take breaks and do something you love, simply because you love it. It’s a good thing to be busy. Just don’t get so caught up in your work, you forget what you’re working for and why you started in the first place! 💜✨🌈

I remember when I first created this image in 2018. It was so empowering for me to see myself in this way.

Where I was able to start rising above everything I thought that was holding me back. My fears, my worries, my troubles, etc.

The version of me on the ground is emitting black smoke. To represent the darkness inside of me that I was trying to let go of. And then the version of me standing represents clarity. I’m looking at myself going through the trials and troubles, understanding that I needed to go through those things in order to rise above it and see things a little bit more clearly for what they were. The version of me standing up is emitting white smoke to represent the darkness that has been transmuted into light.

Today, this is still one of my favorite images I have ever created.

2023 is a new era.
An era of self love and acceptance. ✨

I read something last week from I want to share. She said, “It’s time to unlearn that you have to sacrifice your authenticity in order to fit in and be liked.”

She said that, we can hold ourselves hostage, because we believe we have to follow an acceptable path in society. Instead of doing what we desire, we do what we think is expected of us. Unknowingly reducing our inner light.

I definitely resonated with that, because it’s something I’ve been working on myself. One of the things I’ve been doing; A tip I want to share on this is; start by asking yourself questions. Why am I not showing up authentically? Why am I holding back? Am I scared? Do I feel judged?, etc.

🪩 What happened? Start writing down the answers of why you feel that way. Get raw and write from the heart. What is stopping you from expressing yourself wholeheartedly?

🪩 Now I want you to write a new divine rule you can live by. Mine in the comments!

Revealing your genuine, authentic self, is a beautiful gift. For yourself and others. You shine brighter and help uplift those around you. 💜🌈✨

The reason I'm going back to my roots and creating works of art like this again is not only because I absolutely love getting creative in Photoshop but because there is a bigger meaning, a bigger purpose that has a part to play. This world can be so dark sometimes and for a lot of us that darkness is within ourselves. We are taught certain beliefs and ways of thinking that subconsciously perpetuate our depression or the negative things happening around us, because we were not taught how to overcome our thoughts when they go south. We have to figure that out for ourselves.

One day you’re seeing yourself as the baddest bitch alive and the next you are your own worst critic. How do we stop the cycle? After years of practicing on and off, I finally figured it out. There’s certain tools and techniques that help re-wire our brain. Step by step. My goal is to help people find the light within themselves again and tune into their most beautiful authentic self. So we can all live in peace, abundance and happiness. I want to take you all on the journey of self healing and manifestation with me as I continue to learn and grow myself.

For now I will leave you with this last question; What’s one thing you can do today that will make you smile and be genuinely happy?

Loved this whole experience! 🥹📸🫶Meeting Christina as a mentor was so great! She is so kind and friendly. We came together on this fun concept! We were supposed to add other elements but the wind hated us 😩 lol Although you would never guess by the photos!! I also got to meet up with my old friend Jes from elementary!! Wise words from Gaga. ✨ I started on my photography journey about 9yrs ago. Growing up I was always the friend taking photos so if you count that, I’ll say I really started when I was 3yrs old. I fell in love with capturing things from my viewpoint. I had an interesting way of looking at things and it was always just so fun for me. 2013 my husband got me my first DSLR and I started Angel Augustina Photography. 💜 I kept fading in and out of my photo business. Most of my attention went to my job, friends/family and just living life in my 20s. - but I was always creating. Not at the rate I am now but I used photography as an outlet. I wasn’t focusing on making photography full time. I created mainly to help me cope with life. It’s not always rainbows and sunshine. Some days it felt a storm ⛈️ and I’m thankful for photoshop, allowing me to create other worlds. It allowed me to heal. Well, it at least helped me get through some difficult times.2022 is the first year I didn’t take any breaks from photography. I created all year and I’m in awe of everything I was able to put together. I explored different editing techniques and ideas. I was flooded with so much inspiration this year. I actually wasn’t able to create everything I wanted to. But for the first time I experienced my businesses growing at a faster rate. I’m thankful for the opportunities that came my way and the people I got to meet and work with. 2023 I’ll be working towards going full time with photography. I have some fun changes and big plans for Angel Augustina Photography. So, I’m using the rest of this year and the first few months of 2023 to get all my ducks in a row before I relaunch in March. 💜I’m still accepting bookings during this time though.
