🎸🇺🇲we had a great live music event with veteran Andrew Gibson and his band Working Out the Kinks.
🙏Drew found mental health relief by playing and writing music and wants to help the veteran community with music.🎶
His performance at our post was his first and everything was great! 🎼more to come.
Bonus, we picked up two new members, we will highlight them soon!

Last week we held our 7th Annual Toy Distribution and thanks to all that donated we collected almost 600 toys. Every single toy or venmo/cash donation makes a difference. You literally created holiday magic for many families and we can not thank you enough. It is only through your kindness and support that this is possible every year. Special thanks to Rayco Auto for setting up as a collection site. The South River PBA 52 and VFW Post 1451 Tamara Ramos Sadel for holding a Holiday event in which they collected many toys 🎁🎀 Jen Nicole for always helping out by collecting and supporting the toy drive ❤️. Saxum Real Estate and 🎅 the NJ Bandits Hockey Club for all your efforts towards donations 💚 My most cherished and hard working elves Al Flores Shelby Lawson Sonny Lawson Camden Markel , Kay Barry and of course Beth and the South River Food Bank. We are closed for Christmas eve (reopening Chrismas day 4pm). But if you're looking for a pace to go today, please visit our sister VFW in East Brunswick. They're an all state vfw for a reason - they're one of the best and do a lot for veterans and the community.

🎄 Christmas Eve at VFW Post 133 🎄

Looking for somewhere to spend your Christmas Eve? VFW Post 133 is opening its doors today to all veterans and their families for an evening of fun, music, and camaraderie.

When: Today, December 24th, 2024
Time: Starting at 4:00 PM ending at 9:00ish

My family and I will be at the Post around 4:00 PM to enjoy some time together, and we’d love for you to join us. Whether you’re looking for good company, a warm and welcoming environment, or just a place to relax, the VFW is home to all veterans.

Here’s what’s planned:
• Drinks (cash bar)
• Music to set the festive mood
• Board games and shuffleboard for some friendly competition
• 6:00 PM Shuffleboard Tournament (just for fun and bragging rights!)
• Christmas movies to keep the holiday spirit alive

If you have nowhere to be this holiday and want to spend time in a warm, welcoming environment, come spend the evening with us at VFW Post 133.

⚠️📢We just acquired our first female veteran member, Sarah Bernal (LtC). 🇺🇸👩
Sarah is still serving in uniform and in civilian attire helping the veteran community with AUSA, the Association of the United States Army. 🫡💪 we plan on helping the veteran community together.
In uniform she's a Quartermaster officer, with multiple deployments. Her responsibility is to ensure the supported units have all the beans and bullets they need to defeat the enemy. Let's welcome her! 👏🇺🇸🇺🇸💪🇺🇸🇺🇸👏

📢What a great turnout for our Santa's chili cook off toy drive for the South River Food Bank with SOUTH RIVER PBA 62 . Dozens of local children will have a better Christmas thanks to the generosity of the community.

💪🇺🇲James Billerman for handling the day to day behind the scenes stuff for our post.👏🇺🇲👏🇺🇲Mark Silva of the Portuguese Fisherman along with his lovely family for attending and being a regular supporter of our events.
📢🇺🇲🇺🇲🙏And we're proud to announce a new partnership with Amy Lipput of Hope in Her Eyes, a nonprofit organization who uses equine therapy to help veterans recover from post traumatic stress, we will be organizing future events with them soon!
