It’s been awhile since we have posted as there are big changes happening here. Ryan and I bought this property almost 4 years ago with the dream of homesteading and we did it!

We have had experiences we will never forget. There were ups and downs, struggles, beautiful moments, lessons learned, sweet memories made and so much more we still wanted to do. While it gave so much, it also took a whole lot of effort, time, and resources. We are not giving up on homesteading, but for now, we are shifting to simplify our life.

This place will ALWAYS have a piece of our hearts. It is hard to let go of what we built here but we feel blessed to have been stewards of such a beautiful property and we are super excited for the next phase, where we do more with less!

Thank you all so much for going on this crazy journey with us and supporting our adventure and although we are saying goodbye, The Holy Cow Homestead will live on. We are proudly passing the torch 😊

Please say hello to the new owners of the Holy Cow Homestead, Taylor and Victoria Jones and their adorable little girl. They are keeping the animals in the pasture and the hay in the barn, taking over the event hall, website and social media.

We are so grateful to leave this property in good hands and we will fully support them in their next chapter. We cannot wait to see what they do to carry on the homestead and make it their own. Many blessings and Congratulations Taylor and Victoria. Welcome home ♥️

Dumpys Cuzzins at HCH

To say our homestead came to life last night was an understatement! Thank you Dumpy's Cuzzin's for rocking the event barn for our first ever concert. Y’all, don’t hesitate to see these guys they are the real deal 🤘🏻🎸And a HUGE thank you to all who showed up and celebrated with us. We absolutely loved seeing everyone. I was having so much fun I forgot to take pictures but here’s a little sample of the night. More in comments. Feel free to share your pics too! This might have to become a tradition around here! 😊🇺🇸

The Journey Begins

In May of 2018, we moved from downtown Fort Wayne to a beautiful 25-acre property in South Whitley. We started a small-scale farm and called it The Holy Cow Homestead. The name honors the history of the property, which was a Christian campground for many decades, and also the first animals we brought home, three baby calves. Shortly after, we added hogs, and Nigerian dwarf goats, turkeys, ducks, and lots of chickens! Ryan draws from his experience working on farms and the wisdom of holistic farmers like Joel Salatin for his farming practice. He follows an agriculture model that is responsible land stewardship and animal husbandry through management intensive grazing practices. Our animals live similarly to the way they would in the wild, the way nature intended. They have extremely natural diets, and a very happy life. We believe this is not only the most ethical way to raise animals, also preserves the nutritional integrity of our product. For now, we have animals, but there is more to come in the near future!
