The cost of photography isn’t solely based on expensive equipment, costly editing programs, continual education or endless subscriptions that keep a business running.

The cost of photography is based on the person holding the camera and what they can do with all of those things.

A camera does not take good photos. A person does ❤️

Reasons to have a second photographer at your wedding even if you think you don't need it:

- You'll receive a lot more photos coming from different angles resulting in a more dynamic full gallery.
- There will be the option to have two events to be covered at the same time. While one photographer is capturing family photos, the other can be shooting something that you may be missing like cocktail hour.
- Two different artists will have two different ways they approach their art which will give you a lot of variety in your photos.
- If your photographer gets injured at your wedding or something very unexpected/catastrophic happens, there will be someone already on site who can step in and start shooting without missing a beat.
- Candid shots will be better because there will be someone that won't have to focus on both candid AND portraits.
- You'll have an automatic backup of images.
- During events that are fast paced, you'll have less of a chance for anything to be missed with two people shooting.
- Less stress for the main photographer which in return means more creativity.

I could probably go on all day which just proves why a good second shooter isn't a luxury, they are a necessity!

This year is going to be a challenging yet fun one!

In February I am doing something way out of my comfort zone and am teaching a breakout class at The Hybrid Co in San Diego about disability in the wedding industry. If you are a photographer...you don't want to miss this amazing conference!

March is going to be packed as well with The Reset Conference in Panama City, FL where I'll be hosting a styled shoot with the focus on gorgeous models with varying disabilities. This is going to be STUNNING and something you'll most definitely want in your portfolio.

April brings my first wedding of the year which takes place in California then wedding season begins.

Something to consider:

For your first dance...maybe let your parent dances happen first. Why?

By doing your first dance with your new spouse after the parent dances, that gives your photographer time to move around the dance floor and find the best angles to shoot from. It helps us find the best light, the best backgrounds, the best camera settings and then, of course, gives us that advantage when shooting your first dance.

(Don't worry, your parent dances photos will still be gorgeous but we want the images from your first dance as a married couple to be just a little better ;) )
