Costume Craze, in the pole bldg will be closed until next October. During the year, the costume barn becomes a pole bldg. Costumes are stored until next year.
I have 23 deluxe theater Wizard of Oz theater costumes- I WILL SELL ALTOGETHER-NOT SEPARATE PIECES. $1700 for the entire lot, this is a deal and the price is firm. Most were professionally made. Many are worth at least $100, some more.
I operate a vintage clothing store out of the lower level in our house. I have vintage Mardi Gras costumes from New Orleans prior to Hurricane Katrina, vintage (40 plus yrs old) Dirndl dresses from Austria and Germany, some girls dirndl dresses, vintage German toddler clothing, and boys to size 10 lederhosen-suede or leather, NO mens lederhosen but men’s gorgeous Bavarian 2 piece suits ($200) with either sterling silver buttons or Elkhorn buttons-all dry cleaned.
In the vintage room there’s lots of 70s and 80s, men’s 70s leisure suits with the 70s shirts-$200, some 40s, 50s, and 60s dresses, suits, pant suits, skirts, fancy dresses, and real fur coats, fur stoles, and fox fur shorter coats. Many Gunne Sax dresses and outfits. Gunne’s run between $175-$200. I listing some prices so people can decide if they want to come. Many deluxe ladies 2 piece suits or older dresses, fancy lace coats, over a beautiful dress, perfect for theater. Lots of vintage jewelry, hats, 80s nylons, vintage cowboy and cowgirl shirts, etc. so much. I can’t compete for school rentals -for $10 when dry cleaning alone is more than this. The average school rental is $35-$50 depending on the costume, some are $75. Everything is for sale on the vintage room. Everything is washed, dry cleaned, and repairs made, if needed.
My vintage store is top of the line and many people, in theater have told me it’s the best!
I have Mascot rentals for birthday parties. These are stored off site, old time characters “like” Cookie Monster, Elmo, Big Bird with leather 3 toed hand made shoes. “Like” because these aren’t copywritten. Also a Dalmatian, Lion King characters-Scar sold. Pichachu, Barbie, plus others.
I have Mall quality Santa Claus’ and Ms. Santa. Pilgrims and Amish. I have a few extra rental quality Easter bunnies-I sold most when I thought I was retiring from the costume business. Our kids and grandkids are helping so I can stay in business.
Appointments during the year-Nov.-Sept. Most Halloween costumes are not accessible during the year-they are packed away in storage. My vintage room is always accessible, for buyers, with an appt. 616-986-8103 please leave a message on this line. Thanks Sally
