This Saturday night ..At 6 pm at First Community Center, fellowship hall, 215 5th Street , Spencer. From Hwy 29 (Main St), turn at the model train store and it's about 1 block on the left . There is plenty of parking and a ramp to the door where it will be $4 admission. It is a very nice perfect size room with a full kitchen and a stage and great acoustics. There will be some type of food if everything goes right. This is a new venue so it will be a work in progress and I will strive to make it the best show in North Carolina. Please tell your friends. Now the good news, If this show is successful and you folks are happy with it, it can be our permanent home and done often on a consistent schedule.

Doors open at 5 30 and karaoke at 6 30. March on down.. Spencer Moose Lodge Saturday night.

So anyway y'all know I go to church religiously and have a black belt in passing the collection plate along while almost not even touching it and last week the pastor asked me to prepare and deliver the sermon. We talked about his last sermon and I reminded him for his next time that a good sermon has a good beginning and a good ending and they should be as close together as possible.....Here's a part of what I put forth

I brought 3 sermons with me today and I am going to let you decide which one you want to hear ....
Now If you put $10 into the collection plate I can drone on for one whole neverending hour, and I don't
have to tell you that a one hour sermon will not only give you a headache, It'll even give your asprin a headache ..But If you put in $20 I will cut that in half .. still, a half hour sermon?...
you're still going to be every bit as bored as your average every day Amish electrician
Now the good part, if you are truly devout as I know many of you are put $50 in the collection plate
I can have you out of here in under 5 minutes. If you don't know just how devout you might be I will give you one
example of a devout person that you might judge yourself by. I kwow this older woman, kinda like some of the
members of this congregation
except not as good looking as our members and she lived alone in this old house that reminded me in some ways
of one of my old girlfriends
in that it was all painted up in front had a big wide swing in the back and absolutely nothing up in the attic.
Anyway every morning she would come out onto her front porch and throw her hands up into the air and
throw her head back and say praise the Lord
in such a manner that you just knew how serious she was about it. Did this every morning. Unfortunately an athiest
moved in next door and he couldn't stand this devout display day after day. Well one morning the woman appeared and started praying 'Lord I ran out of food and I ran out of money and I sure am hungry Lord' Well the mean old athiest was watching this whole thing unfold. The next morning the by now starving woman came out on her front porch and lo and behold there was two big bags of groceries waiting for her so she threw her arms up as high as they woud reach and started in her absolutely loudest voice 'Thank you Lord for these much needed groceries' Next thing you know , the neighbor yelled 'Ha Ha I brought you those groceries, there is no God' She stared at him with a look that could drop a Tyrannosaurus dead in his tracks and prayed louder than ever... 'Praise Jesus three times over, not only did you send me this food but you made the devil himself pay for it'... I went on for another twenty minutes but by then almost everybody had left.

Thats right...This Saturday nite at Spencer Moose Lodge 1301 Elizabeth street in Spencer...doors open at 5 30 and karaoke at 6 30. Of course we will have our annual Valentines Party complete with semi-private rooms for those who are feeling the urge to get romantic with their spouse or those who would like to spy on the busy couple but before you get carried away with this notion remember that a spouse is someone who will stay by your side through all the trouble you wouldn't have had if you had only stayed single. Brings back memories of my old girlfriend. I called her Liberty Bell and you can ask me why if you want to. Anyway she looked kinda like my Grandma's house in that she was all painted up in the front with a wide swing in the back and absolutely nothing in the attic. I used to say If any other man tried to take her away from me I would probably shoot his seeing dog. She once told me the next time she heard me say that I wouldn't see her for three days. Turns out she was right in that it took all of three days for one of my eyes to reopen enough after the swelling subsided.

Doors open at 5:30 and speaking from experience the food they serve there will be the second best thing you have ever put into your mouth. Not surprisingly the Moose is still located at 1301 Elizabeth Ave in thrillingly comatose Spencer.
So anyway now that karaoke is back I thought it would be a good time to review what the most prominent attributes are for the most sought after singers every karaoke KJ wants at his show. Luckily I found just such a list in the first place I looked which was on the back panel of a Depends box right next to the crossword puzzle that I can now share with you.
1, there is an electronic singing fish in more than three rooms of your house
2. you can play the star spangled banner on a turkey call
3. your parrot can say 'open up it's the police'
4. the sheriff regularly speaks to you through a megaphone
5. people are scared to touch your bath robe
6. you have hit on somebody at a vd clinic
7.Last but not least, you were so fat you gave Dracula diabetes.
