We want to thank everyone who came out to our end of season awards. Congratulations to the top 5 points finishers

We also give out a sportsmanship award. This year we give it to a guy who is always there to help wherever needed. He shows up early, stays late, helps us inspect, flag and also hand crafts all of our hardest hitter trophy’s. This year’s good sportsmanship winner is PK Pate.

Another great night, Another great season !!! We had over 100 cars show up Saturday evening. Despite the weather not fully cooperating everyone seemed to have a good time. 1st and foremost our thoughts and prayers go out to our injured driver. For privacy reasons I won’t go into detail however we was in contact with him yesterday. He said he was still in some pain however will be just fine and is looking forward to next season. With that being said we owe our emergency personnel and track workers a huge thank you, you guys rock !! Thank you to Pete’s Economy Muffler and Frye Towing for sponsoring the power wheel and creepy car contests. Thank you to Jesse Mobley for announcing for us all year. Congratulations to all the class winners Saturday night. Once all the season points are figured and double checked that will be posted as well as the details concerning our end of the season get together.

As of 11am today everything tonight is still a GO. We have no plans to cancel or postpone tonight’s show. Unfortunately from time to time it can’t be helped. That decision comes directly from the fairboard not OC Derby. If anything changes we would post it just as soon as we know. A little rain won’t stop us !!!

2 WEEKS!!! Added new class of Front Wheel Drive Plus class

It appears there IS enough interest to try a new class of Front Wheel Drive Plus at the Halloween Derby.
One heat with both mids and minis.
Any tire, 4x4 square tube bumper or OEM bumper. Bumpers may be welded on.
Two 4x6 repair plates to fix damage. Zero plates on undamaged vehicles.
We will still run our regular mid and mini classes separated with the old rules.
I see nothing to complain about here. Just an attempt to satisfy the stock guys as before, but offering a new class for those wanting the bumper and tire change. We know it's short notice, but did you want to wait until next year to try it? The amount of welding required shouldn't take up much of your time. Concerns about mids and minis running together is experimental and we are leaving it to your best judgement whether you wish to participate based on the size of vehicle you wish to run. If it concerns you then run the regular mid or mini class in accordance with the previous rules. If we have enough cars in the future to split this new class of course we would. We appreciate your feedback and hope you come to enjoy it and try something new. Someone will always disagree with anything we try, but we strive to stay true to what built the program while attempting to be flexible to change. Our overall goal is a level playing field for participants of every class, while presenting quality entertainment for fans. We value our drivers and listen to them. There will always be differences of opinions on everything we try and do. Hope to see you all there and end the season on positive note. We always have a great bunch of drivers showing great sportsmanship and I expect that will not change.

I have been asked to see if there is any interest in a new class. This would not change the rules in the mid and mini car classes we've always run. It would be an entirely separate class. It would require at least 8 cars to sign up for it.
The suggested class would be one heat with both mids and minis.

If there is an interest in this new class comment below.
MUST BE 8 CARS entered to become a reality.

The Cataract Vol. Fire Department has always helped us out for all our derby events. We ask that all who support our derby to support their fire department by attending their fall festival bean dinner and flea market this upcoming weekend. It is a big event in a beautiful setting. Visit the fire house for food and drinks and leave a donation if you wish. I hope our derby community helps us say thank you by attending.

Great family fun! Trunk or Treat for the kids 4 to 6 pm. Creepy car contest $350 to win. Kids Power Wheels costume contest $50 to win. All the same classes and action as our other shows.

Another great show in the books. I’m sorry I don’t have a list of the winners yet however I wanted to post thank you’s to everybody who helped put this show on. We know there was an issue with seating and being sold out. With that being said I do want to make mention last winter our fairboard ordered new bleachers to accommodate about 1000 more people, they poured the concrete and had everything ready only to be told the bleachers were now back ordered and wouldn’t arrive until after the fair. Hopefully by the time AppleButter rolls around that issue will be resolved.
Again thank you to everyone who had part in marking last nights show successful…. Hope to see you all in Sept.

TONIGHT! We are no better at guessing the weather than most forecasters. However it's only an issue if it produces lightning or dangerous winds. The radar maps at 11 am show the rain moving out of our area soon and clear to the west of us.. It looks to be good to go for the derby tonight according to my crystal ball. We have had a dozen messages already this morning asking about rain. My suggestion is to watch media that are trained in monitoring the weather. We are not. I do believe we will be good to go. As everyone here on the derby committee is preparing for the event tonight, we will be unable to answer questions and posts throughout the day. Hope to see you there and enjoy the show.
