Tune in to CBS KREM2 on Wednesday, December 4 from 7:00 – 8:00 p.m. to help support the 100th Anniversary of Shriners Children’s Spokane!

This inaugural telethon, powered by the El Katif Shriners will raise much-needed funds for Shriners Children’s Spokane to continue to provide premier orthopedic specialty care to children, and support to their families, regardless of their ability to pay – for the next 100 years!

We could not do this without your support! Please help us spread the word and stay tuned to KREM2 on December 4. Throughout the day, our community will learn more about our 100-year healthcare system; hear stories about our amazing Shriners Children’s Spokane patients and our region’s Shriners, who set out to help children over 100 years ago.

Did you know…………………..
President Roosevelt visited El Katif in 1912. The only seated President to visit El Katif.
The furniture in this picture shown below is still in use today at the Spokane Masonic Center.
It is still in use by the Scottish Rite, York Rite, Eastern Washington Lodge of Research 310, blue lodges Spokane 34, North Hill 210 and Oriental 74.

Did you know…………..
The name El Katif comes from an ancient city in Arabia, El Katif on the Persian Gulf of the Red Sea. The first official meeting of the El Katif Shrine was held July 31, 1890 in The Curtis Building on Post and Sprague in downtown Spokane Falls (now just Spokane), WA. Check out the El Katif Museum at the El Katif Shrine Center, Spokane, WA.
